Many historical building and heritage still exist. Culinary side centralized in the back of ancient building so organized. The security guard aware and standby at 10 pm this central area must be steril and safe.

If you bump into a guy called daniel here, I think it’s a scam. He told us he had family in the Netherlands and I read a review on here that he had family in the USA. Either way, he gave us a great tour but we gave him €30 for the “children”. I think it’s just a scammer so do his tour but don’t give him money

It is all right place, but nothing special. Not something to brag about. Couple of hours enough to visit

So many shops and the square with a history to tell. This is the old town that you have to visit. Also the museum in the centre is a nice place. Have the coffee and what-nots at Cafe Batavia. Dont miss this location for a short trip when in town.

If spite of the ongoing renovations, the area has no charm whwsoever and remains extremely dirty and difficult to access.
There are a very limited choice of bars/restaurants and the area museums can happily be..ignored

If you are in Jakarta this is one of the nicest areas to check out. It's quite interesting and there is plenty happening. A good photo area and nice old buildings and a big square.

The Kota Tua area had always seemed kind of dead to me before, but when I came again last year, it felt much livelier. There was a music festival at Fatahillah square, and the canalside areas have undergone upgrades so that the area is looking nice now. At the time the works weren't fully done yet, but when it is, the area should become quite a nice heritage zone for Jakarta.

I was in Jakarta for a very short trip which is 4 days 3 nights and it was not a leisure trip. This trip was September 2015 to attend training run by Hilton (MDP3) Pro-Active Leadership program, this training was very effective and we all participants was busy almost 8am to mid-night focusing on the training program and our activities for next day.
Once the training program end just before the flight was able to have half day and I was lucky that the FOM took me around the Old city for a quick tour by car, since it was almost getting in to the rush hour we have to get back to hotel therefore did not see much of the old city.
I would like to go back one day to see the old city and enjoy the experience.

The revitalization makes Jakarta Old Town better and better. More pedestrian friendly. I still love to visit Fatahillah Museum even for the third time. My most favorite time to visit Jakarta Old Town is in the late afternoon. One thing you need to consider is when you visit Jakarta Old Town during weekend, please be ready of the crowd.

Hello. I am not sure how far is that. I remember I was in another hotel and had to take a cab to reach that area. But it is a highly recorded area to visit
Apakah museum di kota tua tetap buka saat hari kemerdekaan Indonesia? Karena kan termasuk hari libur nasional

Iya, malahan dipadati banyak pengunjung karena beberapa hal.
1. Merepakan hari libur
2. Banyak aktraksi memeriahkan HUT RI
3. Salah satu objek wisata sejarah yg menceritakan zaman kolonial belanda cukup lenkap
