📍Telaga Waja River Rafting, Bali
My personal BEST ever white water rafting experience was in Telaga Waja.
🛶Picture rafting over cascade after cascade surrounded by the lushest greens, with the incessant roaring of strong waters.
🌊The best part was rafting through a waterfall that appeared in the middle of seemingly nowhere, having a pitstop there, and just immersing ourselves in all of its magic. The experience was ethereal.
A whopping 18km track, this rafting experience at the East side of Bali is a MUST-experience.
Costing roughly 300,000 Rupiah's (Rm 85) per person, this is a well worth investment of the best of memories.

We had a lovely day here. Guides were very well trained. Steered us entire way without having to paddle. Lunch was basic but yum and in a very scenic spot. No stairs

Had a great day rafting on the Talaga Waja river,,slightly challenging,if your fit it's not a problem at all,,the only down fall was at the end the boss of the tour was only worried about us and the others giving a tip to each of our personal tour guides, and then they gave the tips to him anyway when I thought our personal tour guide was going to get for his hard work, which was disappointing,,a good day rafting otherwise

The river offers an amazing experience with beautiful scenery and intermediate rapids. We loved it, the guide was really good with navigation. The down side was that the guide before even finishing the course kept asking for tips in a very unprofessional manner and the raft at the end was losing air.

We had 4 adults and two teenage boys who all loved the rafting experience. We booked at a stand in Legian near the Bintang supermarket for $30AUD each which included two way transfers from our villa, 3 hours of rafting and lunch at the end.
The river is beautiful and the rapids were great fun. Not too dangerous but still exciting and the drop over the dam wall is awesome. You get to stop at a waterfall to take pictures and have a drink too.
Lunch afterwards is nothing special, just a buffet with rice and noodles and a bit of chicken. Still good to eat after a long time on the river.
The only down fall for me was the 2 hours drive to get there.

I have white water rafted three times before (twice before in Bali on different river) We booked this trip through Bali Sun Tours, BCR RAFTING GROUP.
This experience was pretty full on, although very shallow (in December), the water flowed very fast, no relenting! Thank goodness for our guide Pong who did a great job of steering us, but we crashed many, many times in to the (beautiful) steep cliff walls and in to the protruding and submerged rocks/fallen trees.
I definitely would not do this without shoes, as you will have to get out & walk. Our raft got stuck several times. And hang on tight! At one stage, another raft collided with ours & our kids got knocked out of the boat. Luckily they are 13 & 16, and good in water & our guide grabbed our youngest boy as he went under!
I would be concerned taking young children, however there were several families that did. I would also be concerned if I was not fit. The walk down & up from the river is very short compared to the other river rafting, however, we had to hang on so tight all the way & had to keep bracing ourselves for impact, that it was tiring. We didn’t have to paddle much at all, as the river pushed us along, as we hung on tight! Our guide must have been exhausted as he was doing all the work, trying to steer our raft to avoid obstructions.
An exciting experience, also very beautiful through magnificent rainforest, many waterfalls & very high rock faces, you felt like you were deep in the jungle (aside from plastic rubbish in river 😢)

Although rafting was great fun, it was tougher than I expected. It's not suitable for people with e.g. a bad knee of a heart condition. There are a lot of steps.

We've been rafting on the Telaga Waja river many times with many different companies. Our experience has always been good, but this time, with Alam it was the best. Our guide, Jus, was top notch! We had our two boys with us, and he was an excellent guide for a family, always making sure things were safe, but also a lot of fun! He really stood out as being an outstanding guide!
The food was also really delicious both before the trip and after. So many options and a much larger buffet than some of the other companies. We had a blast and will definitely do it again. Thanks, Jus!
