I visited Nanjing during the Lantern Festival in March 2017 and had the pleasure of enjoying the Qin Huai River when it was fully illuminated. The area is much more beautiful when it was all lit during the Lantern Festival. However, I am not sure...More

The river just right by the Confucius temple. Worth visiting, especially towards the evening when they light up the decorative lanterns.

There was so much to see along this river and on the trail. It was so fun to ride bikes down it and be in the middle of the city but still feel like you are in nature. I would definitely recommend going. Oh and...More

Been very surprised about this kind of activity, first time I found it after several year visiting Nanjing. I enjoy it very much.

Absolutely heaving with local tourists at peak times, which spoils the atmosphere. Better during the day time when it’s quieter, nice views of the river but that’s about it. Mostly just shiny new shops and Chinese tourists looking to flaunt new money.

I went there in November. It is indeed the best month to go. Remember that Nanjing has a reputation that it is one of the furnace of the nation. The Qin Huai River was famous for its contraditions. One one side, it was the place...More

The boat ride takes you along the old river and gives you some nice views of the city. I'd suggest to do this after sunset though because the river is beautifully lit.
