Nice walk. Forgot cash. That was a mistake. Went to alternative 'restaurant'. Instant noodle. Good day.

We like to hike different places each trip so planned to visit Po Toi Island. Went to Aberdeen as the ferries were supposed to go to the island from there that day. Found out that on public holidays they leave from Stanley so luckily managed to get a bus quite quickly and get there to catch a ferry as there... More

Despite the negative reviews that I saw, I decided to check out the island. Guess what??! I enjoyed my day trip there. There's only 1 boat ride on tue. Left Aberdeen at 10am, to leave island at 2pm. Once u missed it.. u missed it..Easy walk/hike on this small island. scenery, sound of the waves against the boulders and the... More

We started with a boat trip to Po Toi Island from Aberdeen on the south part of Hong Kong island. Our goal was to hike around parts of Po Toi and we started off looking forward to a fantastic nature experience. However, it soon was clear to us that our Swedish bodies aren't made for the weather conditions here: the... More

Nice trail starts from temple, North of the ferry jetty. A bit difficult to find at first but really nice. After a while the trail becomes paved. Hike clockwise so you can enjoy the view over the south west Peninsula when you climb the stairs down from the summit.

The pier in Stanley has a ferry to the island, which is a great way to see some of the islands. After grinding in the city this spot feels a million miles away. There is a wonderful basic seafood restaurant serving quality seafood. So take a trip to Stanley, do a little shopping and go to Po Toi for lunch.... More

I have lived in HK for 7 years and am still amazed when friends book a junk that is going to stop at Po Toi for lunch...I can't imagine why anyone would - and I need my head examined for agreeing to go again! It's a 5 mins walk to the restaurant on the island (mostly seafood) so you get... More

Po Toi Islands consists of 4 islands namely Po Toi, Waglan Island, Sung Kong and Beaufort Island. Only Po Toi is accessible by public transport. There are a few trails on Po Toi. Due to the ferry schedule, a day tour is more suitable. A day walk from the ferry to the southernmost point and back to the ferry. Main... More

But we normally go there by boat for lunch. there is a very good Seafood Restaurant cold MING... More

If you have one day trip then skip Po Toi as there are very little to see or do on the Island. The only thing you can do here is a hike which takes maximum 2 hours, with little change of scenery. With no government electricity and water supply, there is minimal service and restaurants. We were told that water... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
