This place has almost everything you could want and then some. Be prepared to haggle as they start out high but they really like to haggle over the price and you can wind up with some good deals if you know what you want and what you are willing to pay for it. You could spend hours just walking around... More

This is the place that you must go if you only have 1 day in HK. Countless shops selling countless items ranging from High-end Collectible Sneakers to souvenirs which you can bargain and bargain till the cows come home. Ladies Market is there apart from the many other streets that sells food too.

Mongkok is mainly famous for its markets and there are quite a few of them. All were packed with tourists wandering in and out. For me it was more a case once you have done one then the others are quite similar so maybe didn't enjoy it as much as others. Very busy which brings good vibe.

This is the real Hong Kong - inexpensive restaurants and street food, temples, street markets. Easy to get to on the MTR.

The place becomes so tourist place. No more good bargains there, in fact, souvenirs are now much more expensive there. Time has changed there in MongKok

Mong Kok is the perfect place to stay. It's a great blend of old and young, with plenty of food options. If you're into street foods this will be heaven for you. Also if you (like myself) want more organized/safer foods then you'll love it too!

Staying in Mong Kok

Neighbourhood Profile
Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.
