We walked from our hotel (the Harbour Grand) to TST and found that the Avenue of Stars was being renovated (Dec 17), so some of this is cut off, but we enjoyed walking around Starry Garden which is nearby.

Better than before with a second level, watching symphony of lights got better. A walk from metro station, with good scenery as well going to the promenade. Make sure you have extra time because you will be faced with so many intriguing beautiful scenes.

Its fairly close. Its an excellent walk to the ferry - we did this journey quite a few times and catches a beautiful morning sun. In the evening, its a bit more quiet as the area around the hotel is very quiet.
