Good hiking and an interesting museum at the end of the trail

The museum is located on top of a hill and requires a bit of a trek to get there. There's a nice view of some houses and gives a different view of Hong Kong. They have some interesting exhibits (police uniforms, forensic tools, armor, guns and items confiscated from the HK Triad on display) but it's not as well-maintained as... More

We did the Wanchai Gap trail which was steep but scenic. The museum covered the formation of the HK police through to modern times and was very interesting. A lot of history of when we Brits were there, modern criminal activity and everyday police life. Surprisingly good.

I went with 3 young children and 2 grandparents and all were fascinated by the cool artefacts on display. The museum isn't too big so it doesn't take any longer than 1 hour to have a good look around everything. Its situated in a quiet and serene area in Hong Kong near parks and reserves. Very educational and highlight of... More

We took the Wan Chai Gap Trail from Kennedy Road. It is very steep and was a workout for everyone (so not for toddlers). When we got to the destination, it was a big accomplishment and instilled pride in my sons. There was a lot of nature to observe on the trail, with a number of benches and rest stops.... More

I took a bus ride to get here. It's a bit off the beaten track. It's a small but interesting museum, particularly if you have a law enforcement background. Only downside was the "no photographs" greeting as we walked in.

Definitely worth a visit if you are a history buff. It's small, so an hour or two will be plenty. I found the sections on the founding of the force most interesting, but there is also plenty on more recent developments.

Some gruesome history is awaiting to be revealed at HK's police museum. It's small but full of interesting stuff including a tiger shot by officers in Fanling at the turn of the last century and lots of details about Triads and their rituals. Well worth a visit.

Came here on a Friday morning. It's somewhat out of the way, but it is on the way to The Peak. Hours are varied so be sure to check before you go. It is a small museum and can be completed in 20-30 minutes, depending on how in-depth you look at each exhibit. There is a trek up several flights... More

Slightly out of the way but well worth spending an hour or two to visit. Great exhibits helped add some colour to my knowledge of the history of HK. Combine it with a trip up the Peak. Take the 15 bus from Exchange Sq up to the Peak instead of the tourist packed Peak Tram. The museum is most of... More

The Museum traces the history of the HK police force from inception in 1844 to the current day. The displays, although not extensive, are thoughtfully laid out and are interesting to observe. here are a few steps to negotiate to get to the museum. It is a bit of an exercise to get there, I ended up taking a taxi... More
