Good view from the waterfront park tower. Can rent bicycles for cycling around the waterfront areas. Visit also the Taipo Train Museum if you have time.

The Tai Po Waterfront Park is a 22 hectare city park situated on the northern shore of the Tolo Harbour. It opened to the public in 1997 and affords residents of Tai Po with well maintained and managed leisure and recreation space with good facilities and rewarding views of the harbour.

Quite a few buses call upon the park including those from the Tai Po Market MTR Station. You can also walk there from the station in 20-25 minutes. This is also a major stop on the very popular Tai Wan to Tai Mei Tuk bike trail.

The Waterfront Park has quite a lot to offer. There is expected grassy areas, children's playground areas, elderly fitness equipment, pebble walking trails, kite flying area, model boat pool, an insect house, sculpture installations, public toilets, bike rentals and parking areas and loads of promenade space directly on the sea.

A real highlight to visiting the Waterfront Park is the spiral-shaped lookout tower that is just over 32 metres in heigth, affording visitors really nice panoramic views of the harbour, nearby industrial park, the mountainous areas beyond Tai Po as well as the rest of the park, surrounding the lookout tower.

Overall, it is a really nice park and waterfront in the Tai Po area and a great stopping point to rest for those cycling through Tai Po.

...place to visit, with lots of different areas to explore, which have cleverly walled off to create seclusion and quiet. Atop the viewing platform, there are lovely views over the bay and there is plenty of space to wander tound. Younger kids will really enjoy the insect house too.

Its not only a park but a walkway, a bicycle lane with the memorial tower in it. We visited on Saturday morning. The weather was pretty cloudy but there has lots of people.
The walkway links Tai Wo Estate to Tai Po Industrial area. You can see clearly the smokes come out from the high tall tubes at the end of the walkway.

Was staying in the area and went for a wander here. It's a really nice park, super clean, got a lookout tower, free wifi in certain areas. I'd say if you are staying nearby to pop along for a walk (and a bit of personal space) but don't take a day trip here as it's just a nice clean park.

Went there with the family when the temp was around 23c. A lovely place to spend a few hours just lazying around and enjoying the environment. Lovely areas segregated with different themes, such as kite flying area etc. Thus really great for kids to play in the grass etc.

Not good if you are looking for specific things to do. Just go there to enjoy the scenery and spend a few hours away from the smartphone.

Went here after a trip to the Tsz Shan Monastery & Guan Yin Statue (definately worth a trip), but I would say to would be visitors it's only really worth a visit if you work/live in the nearby vicinity and want to chill in a park with friends. Definitely don't go out of your way to go there otherwise, rather go to one of the country park such as lion rock park instead & enjoy some real nature & better air.

Reasons why it's not great: It's mostly located in-between an industrial park and a smog ridden waterfront. The insect house doesn't have live insects. The tower with views of Tai Po is really irrelevant when going up any mountain or high rise in the area will give you better views.

Reasons why it's good: It's clean & pretty.

ok so it's probably 3star park not 2 (what i ranked it as) but currently it's ranked too high in trip advisor for what it deserves.

Tai Po Waterfront Park a lush green area with lots of things to do. It has a small incest house and a tower commemorating Hong Kong's change of sovereignty in 1997. The view of Tolo Harbour and Ma On Shan (weather permits) is unbeatable. There is also a nicely paved cycling path which heads to Shatin.

I liked riding here because there were a lot of locals in the area. It was crowded, but felt less touristy. It was a little crazy renting the bike, but it ended up working out. They charged me a little extra for drop off at the Tai Po side, and looked at me kind of funny when I wanted to do that. I guess most people rent at Sha Tin and return.
