I took an Uber from Harbour Grand Hotel and reached Sky Terrace in 20mins. 360 viewpoint of Hongkong. Vantage points are always a good way to see a place.Visited January 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 January 2023
- John NHoofddorp, The Netherlands9 contributionsThe Peak; a must see and actually the first thing to do in HKOnly at the Peak you can get a slight feeling on how “massive and impressive “ Hong Kong actually is . We took the Peak tram and almost vertically we went up and riding through the old neighbourhoods built on the streep hills of Hong Kong and when reachings the top at the Peak you know that you want to experience Hong Kong. Do the Peak first and let toen the city conquer your hart!!Visited December 2022Written 13 January 2023
- Aussie_BinturongQueensland, Australia328 contributionsMany visitorsThere is lots here to see and do. The directional signs are pretty cryptic. The lines for the bathrooms were a bit long. Just a tad too busy, although it was Chinese New Year. If you want a day out with your dog, that seems to be a thing here. I saw a dog in a pram, wearing a dress. Dresses look weird on dogs. The dog did look happy though and it’s not for me to say what she should wear.Visited January 2023Travelled soloWritten 24 January 2023
- hughmahonKilkenny, Ireland23 contributionsLooking down on Hong 🇭🇰 KongFirst and formast is the view from Victoria Peak which is phenomenal. Access to the Peak is easy with Tramline, taxi or walk. Only issue is the demand that is there for people wishing to get the top. It is well worth the wait provided it is fine cloud free day.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 January 2023

I suggest buying tickets online to avoid long lineups. Must buy ticket for Skydeck for full experience and view. Also take Peak Tram. - Susan CMelbourne, Australia810 contributionsDeserves being the top attraction in Hong KongI visited Victoria Peak on my first day in Hong Kong with a local friend. She often runs up the Morning trail to the Peak but we took the Peak tram up to the summit which starts amongst the tall buildings and rises to the forested areas quite quickly. My friend had been there on busy weekends but on a Wednesday afternoon the Peak was much quieter and we had no trouble picking up tickets and the tram and restaurants were not crowded. We had snacks at the Peak Galleria and admired the various dog-focused shops before walking the Peak Circular Walk, a fairly flat three and a half km track, using Harlech and Lugard Rds, that encircles the Peak and gives amazing views across Hong Kong from the islands to the north-east and, especially, over Victoria Harbour. While I liked the tram and the Sky Terrace as well as the Galleria and Tower this was my favourite part. I felt I got the best views of Victoria Harbour from the Lugard Rd Victoria Harbour viewing platform. We bought the Skypass ticket option as part of the Peak tram ride which gave access to Sky Terrace 428. I liked it. Bundled with the Peak tram it didn't appear to me to be expensive. The views there were better than those inside the Tower as the windows aren't good for taking photos though I have heard there is a free viewing platform available at the Galleria and, of course, there are the views from the Peak Circular Walk. It is quite a large area with uninterrupted views all around. We saw a little bit of the sunset but it had gotten misty and quite cold and windy while we were there so we headed down to eat dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. before heading back on the tram. It was a great way to start my trip and, while touristy it deserves to be the top attraction in Hong Kong.Visited January 2023Written 26 February 2023
- Jeffry bEssendon, Australia13,870 contributionsWhere Hong Kong's elite residesThe Peak is where Hong Kong's elite reside. The Peak is home to Hong Kong's movers and shakers. If you are not quite in the multi-millionaire class, many people aim for the Peak's lower levels, such as Mid Levels. By the way, the Peak Tram will take you to the top and back again, it's a great way to spend a morning. The Peak Tram is great fun. By the way, the official name of the Peak is "Victoria Peak."Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 April 2023
- Coco LHong Kong, China37 contributionsPeak walk and Peak TramI’d suggest taking a walk on the peak (3km and mostly shaded) in the late afternoon and continue seeing the sunset/night view of the city in the evening. The peak is several degrees cooler than the city, so bringing an extra piece of clothing if you can get cold easily. While there is a long queue for peak tram, it’s highly recommended to take the tram as it’s so unique. If you take the tram uphill, it’d be a good idea to sit on the right side as you can have the best view there.Visited October 2022Travelled with friendsWritten 7 May 2023

We bought the tickets but did not get a chance to take the tram to the Peak. Bad management of queue system. Even the police came.

We loved this part of our trip although we were blessed with a beautiful day and we got there by 9.30 am so the tram wasn't busy and as the Sky Terrace opens at 10am we were one of the first people out there. Fabulous views, although I wouldn't recommend it on a stormy day - you might not see anything other than cloud!

The views were great, I didn’t realize there would be a massive mall at the top but it being Hong Kong I should have realized that.

The journey to the peak is good and the views from the top are excellent giving a panorama over Hong Kong and Kowloon. You can get refreshments and drinks and the prices aren't too bad. However it is a busy venue and you may end up waiting to find a spot to get a good picture. The top is also very developed, perhaps too much so, with a lot of concessions and amusements which do detract from the experience to some degree.

If you only have limited time in Hong Kong, then this attraction is a must- do BUT only if weather permitting. Check forecast for weather AND air quality since smog can be quite heavy at times. Otherwise great views of Kowloon and harbor. Fun tram ride up or down BUT sitting is very crammed especially for people who are tall. There are lots of shops and restaurants at the top. TIP- ideally go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

The view was okay, not as high as I expected. There are many things to do in the building itself though, unfortunately we had no time to explore. There's a Tussauds, claw machine, restaurants and photobooth.

No staff to organize the people entering the tram. When i am queueing up with my boys, 2 or 3 big groups of tourists are behind us. once the door is open. They try to push their way in and my boy face hit the door and he cry loudly. I think no need to buy the don know what view tickets. There is one photographer there to help you take pictures and i find him lousy . Just want to get his job done. When i went to the booth to the find a good pic to print out, I find out my hair are messy or looks funny and the photographer just take for the sake of taking photograph. At the end have to choose 1 to print.

Amazing view at the peak. The tram experience was also wonderful. There are many choices for getting coffee and dining at the peak where you can also cool off from the heat. Best come early in the morning or later in the late afternoon for the sunset.

It was bad weather but asked if we would still be able to see the view, told yes, liars! It was zero visibility and nothing open, except a man charging to take your photo and superimpose it onto a picture of the city. Yet another scam from this city.

Stunning views. The tram alone is a fun experience but once you get to the top the views are unparalleled. No need to pay the extra for the Sky Terrace 428 (unless you want to). The views at Lions Pavillion and Peak Galleria (go all the way to the top!) are gorgeous and free. I went early in the morning to beat the crowds but there are so many food establishments and shops that this might be a better place to grab dinner and watch the sunset.

Does the entry ticket include the price of the tram?

Not really but you can choose a combination ticket that includes both the tram ride and the Sky Terrace observation deck. The adult combo ticket is $99 incl return trip on tram (the tram on its own is $52 for a return trip).
The Sky Terrace certainly gives you a panoramic 360 degree view over Hong Kong. However there are several other spots where you can also get very good views over Hong Kong for free. They are comparable views (if not 360 degrees). The free spots are at the Galleria observation deck, Lions Pavilion, from the Peak Circle Walk and Lugard Rd (see reviews on each of these).
If you want to explore the Peak a little, the Peak Circle Walk is an easy, flat, looped trail. I often take visitors on this walk.
The other thing to remember is that you don’t have to do the tram both ways. Taking a bus or taxi one-way is quite a good option esp if there are queues at the tram. In any case you get a totally different view over Hong Kong as the bus or taxi winds it’s way up/down the mountain.
Hope this helps. Enjoy Hong Kong. It’s a great city.

Hi, it should be closed that time and there is very limited transportation from the peak. Yes, HK is very safe everywhere for anytime of the day.
However, if the view of the skyscraper is what you are keen on then there are many roof top bars where you can enjoy the stunning views of Hong Kong. My personal favourites are Sevva, CeLaVi, Piqniq (all of these three are in the same area, so you can choose any ) and Ozone (the rooftop bar with the best view of the city, its in Ritz Carlton and its expensive ). All give a great view of the city.

I went by taxi from hotel, on the way back by walking. I have checked it in google maps how far it is and how I can get to there. There is subway as well. Just check from you location what it is the best, because subway was not ok for me. I had to get 2 different subways and walk after that to the Peak

Is it okay to visit The Peak and ride the Peak Tram, at 7:00am in the morning?
I don't want crowds and I really hate lining up. I plan to visit Ngong Ping by 10:00am.

It should be ok but it might be foggy depending on the season and you won't get to enjoy the view.. Purchase your tickets before going so you can beat the queue.

Hi I need some advices. My family and I will visit Hong kong on august . We live in a hotel in TST. Our itinerary ;
Day1 : disneyland
Day2: oceanpark
Day3: ngongping
Day4: science center and museum nearby and we will leave HK at 5pm in the evening.
I really want to visit the peak, but we have limited time. Can you tell me where we can put the peak in our itinerary? Is it possible to visit the peak at night? Can we still get a beautiful view? We will skip madame tusaaud because we already been there in singapore and bangkok. Thanks in advance

The decisive factor for the Peak is the weather. It often gets foggy and there is nothing to see. If you go in the evening, be there by 8pm or so. At some stage, a lot of buildings turn off their lights. You can combine it when going to Ocean Park as it is relatively close by. Please note that the Peak Gallery is being renovated but the Peak Tower is open.
You could also consider doing a Ngong Ping on the day you leave. The Cable Car leaves from Tung Chung which is close to the airport. Check if you can either leave the luggage there or check in first and then go there. Enjoy Hong Kong.
