Tucked in between Mody and Chatham South Road is a small historical garden built on a small hill called Signal Hill Garden, inside this small garden free clean toilet facilities can be found as well as some interesting buildings and glimpses of the Victoria Harbour. Firstly the impressive three level red brick Blackhead Point signal tower, which can be climbed during opening hours of 9-11am and 4-6pm daily, we missed by just minutes, and a Chinese Pagoda. The signal tower, declared a national monument, was built in 1907 for the purpose of signally the correct time to the mariners and public using time ball apparatus. The garden offers some respite from the crowds. At the time of our visit the garden was not peaceful due to adjoining building construction in progress.

Signal Tower Garden is a public green space in TST between Minden Row and Chatham Road and where you find the Signal Tower, a Declared Monument that was built in 1907. You can visit the tower freely. Opening hours are now 9-11am and 4-6pm daily.

Between 1908 and 1933, Signal Tower housed and dropped a time ball apparatus to help mariners and local residents to calibrate their watches and clocks. Between 1908 and 1920, the ball dropped once a day before 1pm. From 1920 to 1933, the ball was dropped twice around 10am and 4pm.

The tower includes Baroque and Edwardian red brick architecture. It is three stories with a winding staircase with decent views out the tower windows. There are a couple of very short walking areas, a Chinese pavilion and battlement that can be seen in the garden area.

In the end, Signal Tower is an interesting monument but probably something most interesting to history buffs specifically looking for historic sites around Hong Kong. Note that there is an earlier Time Ball Tower (1885-1907) located at 1881 Heritage in the more centrally located area of TST.

-Accidentally ended up here after trying to get to the garden of the stars. Wasn't sure what to expect but walked up to see what was there. There is a nice viewpoint at the top which looked into the harbour. There is also a pagoda in case it rains.
It wasn't until I got to the top that I realised there was a tower here too. You could actually go up the tower but it was closed when I got there. It opens from 0900-1100 and 1600-1800. Quite an interesting find and it might be a unique experience.

I got very anxious climbing this tower because my toddler was at risk of falling through the railings and all for what? A sense of nostalgia maybe, but the view has completely gone. There's a children's playground nearby which is quite busy. All I would say is don't take a young child up this tower.

This is probably not a place I would go miles out of my way to visit but as I was staying at the nearby Salisbury Hotel (YMCA) I wandered over one morning to check it out. Situated on top of a hill (as the name suggests) this is not much of a garden, there is probably more concrete, however at the top you will find the Classical Baroque style 'Blackhead Signal Tower' which dates back to 1907 when it was constructed to house a time-ball signalling device to signal accurate time to mariners and the public. After going into disrepair in the 1930's the tower was renovated in the 1970's and in October 2015 it was declared a monument. It is an attractive tower with an interesting history and it's well worth the climb up through the 'gardens' to check it out. You also get a nice view from the top out across the harbour. There is also a public toilet facility at this location and benches to sit and rest at.

The original USP of Signal Hill was the sight of the beautiful harbor. Now, you can only see some parts of it in between tall buildings. Nonetheless, I enjoy tall buildings, and climbing up the Tower was quite an experience as well. This is a little off Mody Road and surprisingly empty despite being in TST. Plenty of locals practicing Tai Chi here, so be polite if you're a tourist. The stairs and ramp are also a little steep, so be ready to sweat it a bit (more than usual in HK anyway).

This is a raised park that allows your mind to take a break from the hustle and bustle of TST. You may pass people exercising or practicing Tai Chi, all of which makes it even more peaceful.

Its locate quite near K11 shopping mall. Staircase about 3 mins, you will reach the top of the Signal mountain. It is totally different to the hustle and bustle.
