Description:

Go beyond tours. Come with us on a private, personal walking and food...

Go beyond tours. Come with us on a private, personal walking and food experience that gets you inside Hong Kong. Walks by professionals, not tour guides. Just three guests, maximum. There's no other company like us in Hong Kong, and we're proud to be recognized by the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time Out, the Luxe Guide and the Chicago Tribune. If your time in Hong Kong is short, why waste a minute on a cookie-cutter group tour? Get personal, and learn about Hong Kong and what makes it tick from award winning professionals, food and travel journalists. We work with you to design a Hong Kong experience that's perfect for you. If you like culture and history, then it's back streets, hidden temples, old Chinese neighborhoods--even a haunted house! If you love Chinese food, then get ready to indulge, because that's our specialty. Hong Kong has tens of thousands of restaurants and noodle shops, but we've located all the best and we're sharing our secrets with you! (We speak and read Cantonese, so no worries about Chinese-only menus.). Whatever your profession or interest, we can craft a program that will give you the useful information and local intelligence you need to feel at home in Asia's most cosmopolitan city. Our director and your host, Daisann McLane, has unparalleled experience in finding and getting to the heart of the world's great places. She's an award winning travel journalist with National Geographic Traveler, and before that spent six years roaming the world as the New York Times' "Frugal Traveler" columnist. She fell in love with Hong Kong: she wants you to fall in love with this great city, too.

If you want to know why you need to keep your door god happy, what happens when you take pictures in the Wanchai vegetable market, how a movie saved a street, which buildings in Central are engaged in a feng shui battle, and why peanut butter and condensed milk really are great together, take a walk around Sheung Wan with... There is no better way to start your trip to Hong Kong than with Little Adventures in Hong Kong. Worth every penny. We wanted an overall intro package with some food history and touring and we got it big time. By the end of the tour we had a solid understanding of the public walkways and tram systems which helped... More

Well if you want a tour that gives you both information and laughs try this one, Laura was a knowledgeable and capable host, with a wicked sense of humour. We covered centuries in the 4 hours we spent, if it seems expensive, just see it as money well spent. Where else would you learn about the opium trade, spam, condensed... More

My husband and I booked this tour for our first full day in Hong Kong. Our first night here was overwhelming so this tour gave us the confidence to explore the city alone for the rest of our trip. As some of the comments advise, it is an expensive tour, but you are paying for a private and personalised experience... More

Very interesting walk with fabulous guide through a fascinating part of the city - covering food, markets, architecture, spiritual beliefs, finance and the Hong Kong property market. Walk was very manageable with a sit down stop in a traditional tea cafe and various other stops for egg tarts and other interesting sights. Highly recommended

My Little Adventures tour of Shau Kei Wan and Lei Yue Mun was carefully tailor-made around my interests after the team took the trouble to hear what I was hoping for out of my visit. The tour was full of hard facts and quirky digressions. These tours are ideal for both tourists and for Hongkongers who'd like to learn more... More

I went on this walk a couple weeks ago to learn more about the city I live in. Our guide had excellent knowledge of little nooks-and-crannies to discover and this was overall a fantastic experience! They also had great customer service and replied to booking requests in a couple hours. Would definitely recommend.

My fiance & I did a walk through Shau Kei Wan and the villages of Lei Yue Mun, Sam Ka Tseun and Ma Wan Tseun with Daisann. She was indispensable in understanding the culture & helping us experience a part Hong Kong we could not achieved on our own. The focus wasn't food, but we did not miss out with... More

This 2.5 hour walking tour with 3 guests was well worth the cost. It was well organized, gave us back story information about the area and Hong Kong and included great food samples. The guide was knowledgeable and fun. She was able to answer our specific questions as well as cover her planned content. There was a lot of history... More

We had a great tour with Daisann. She was friendly and full of great information. We covered so much ground and ate at some places that we may not have, had we not had Daisann to guide us. Some highlights were the snake soup restaurant and a small dai pai dong restaurant that Anthony Bourdain had eaten at on his... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
