We only had 3 days in Hong Kong, so could only go to the open mic night. We had reservations, but took the plunge and give it a go. We were the only two in the audience among about 7 performers, but were made to feel very welcome. Every performer was good, some of them very good. We laughed alot... More

We went Friday night (yesterday), absolutely fantastic! Laughs and jokes and audience participation from the first opening line! All were good, some were brilliant! Also learned there are two parts of Wan Chai....Best medicine to cure anything, non stop laughter for two hours. Our favourite was the "Umpires State Building" routine/joke. Highly recommend.

This is a great comedy club! It has an intimate atmosphere where you really get to feel part of the action. The Central location is BYOB and there's a happy hour you can join after the show where you can even meet some of the comedians. The guy in charge, Jami Gong, is really friendly and even agreed to come... More

It's an intimate space, with seating of only several dozen; however, they get some pretty big names, and the audience can be great. Because it is such a small venue, I ended up talking to a few of the comedians after the show, which was cool. I have also had the dubious distinction of going there during an "open mic"... More

We had a good night out at this comedy club. The place is set in a basement and its a bit gloomy but all good for a comedy show. We went to a 10pm Saturday show. Will be back.

A Definite Recommendation! On our first night in HK, we went to a comedy club that l had looked up online. As it turned out, we were treated to a line-up of 10 comedians, pretty good value for money with tickets at HKD200 a pop. Interestingly, about half of them were Chinese with American accents, including the owner Jameson Gong... More

if you've done all the other stuff in hong kong then take out comedy tucked in a corner of soho district is a good place to visit ... it's different and refreshing'... after alighting at the central station take the walkalator to soho district ... the comedians are funny but never too insulting which for onion skinned filipinos like me... So you are done with shopping in Causeway Bay. You have done your fair share of pub crawling in Central. You have explored the street markets in Mongkok. Heck, you have even explored Stanley and Shek-O. So what's next? Try the Take Out Comedy. Discreetly tucked in the basement in Central, it is easy to miss this place. Walk down... More

I came across this place whilst researching what to do in HK and booked us in on a Friday night. Tickets were HK$200, a bit more than normal as the line up included some of their best comedians. To get there take exit D2 at central MTR, at the exit turn right then left until you hit the main road.... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
