Pui O is about 20 Kms from Tung Chung station (nearest station from HK airport), Take Bus (3M) about 8hkd (weekends sat and sun 11 hkd) and b there in 20 minutes three stops only. BY Taxi is 15 minutes but about 80HKD. Try to take a seat on right window once approaching Tung Fok stop down hills is scenic... More

We loved the staff and facilities at Treasure Island camp ground (which is the private plot before you reach the car park), but unfortunately the all-night parties at the nearby BBQ pits spoiled our family camping trip. The music from Mavericks played til late and the acoustics bounced the sound back to our tent. The loud partying at the BBQ... More

Easily accessible beach: Took the Ferry to Mui Wo, Lantau Island from Pier 6 in Central Pier. Then took Bus No. 1 at Mui Wo Bus Station. Got down at Pui O Beach Bus Stop. Walked towards the beach about 5 minutes. Warm shallow waters: safe, clean, ideal for cooling off, even for toddlers! And clams digging. Great amenities: close... More

Its in south of lantau island. Easily accessible by public bus 3M or blue lantau taxi from Tung Chung MTR stn or Mui Wo ferry pier. The beach is long and pretty much quiter compared to other beaches in HK. It has dark sands and waves are greater. Public toilets and changing rooms available. Life guard service up to around... I was at Pui O on a rainy day because of some personal matter which did not resolve at the end. Took me 2 hours to get there: MTR from Tin Hau to Tung Chung, then change bus from Tung Chung to Pui O. Almost 2 hours back to the city: Bus (every 20-30 mins) from Pui O back to... More

Pui O beach in Hong Kong is easily my favourite beach in Hong Kong. Located on the eastern part of Lantau Island, the beach runs along shoreline of Pui O village. The first thing that struck me about Pui O beach was how long and empty the beach looked. My previous references were Stanley beach, Shek-O beach and Big Wave... More

It was my first time to Pui O beach this weekend and I was not disappointed. Compared to beaches on the Hong Kong Island, Pui O area is cleaner, more spacious, with good facilities for food and drink, as well as showers (not amazing but functional and typical hong kong beach style). It is surrounded by relaxed fishing villages and... More

Pui O in Lantau island reserves many Cantonese fishing village structure. During holidays, many locals travel for a day trip. Plan ahead for travel as you need to take bus from Tung Chung or Mui Wo in Lantau. It is famous for shrimp paste what I call Oriental blue cheese and preserved salty fish. You will experience a different Hong... More

Myself and a lot of my friends work on Saturdays so it can be awkward to get out to the more remote but stunning beaches at Tai Long Wan for camping. Instead, we catch the ferry to Mui Wo on Lantau island, hop on a bus towards Pui O (3M or 1). Pui O is a great alternative and its... More
