Nice museum, not too large...

that it hurts to walk around slowly like so many others. Good political history with the only downside that it neglects the part that is Taiwan.

Just back from visiting the museum on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Am a little interested in Asian history having lived in the region, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The building itself is one of the few beautiful buildings of colonial days left in HK and the exhibits and video presentations were very well presented and informative. If you do go, make... More

A definite must-visit. Great museum for history lovers. It is not as much for the exhibits, but for the explanation of the history of HK.

Situated at Tom Kong Hall. The museum is dedicated to the life of Chinese revolutionary Sun Yat Sen. Building is fully renovated and holds details of the life and journey of Sun Yat Sen. Quite interesting but the building contains no furniture that would also showcase this beautiful building. Worth a visit but could be much better. No photos or... More

The museum is actually housed in a well preserved Western style mansion which itself is an interesting tour, to get a glimpse of how the rich and famous lived in the early 20th century. The displays are spread out on different levels of the building which was easy to navigate even using the walk up wooden staircases. The description of... More

Interesting free museum housed in a well-preserved large Western style mansion - pretty rare in Hong Kong. Informative exhibits on Dr Sun Yat Sen and in particular his relationship with Hong Kong (he was introduced to liberal Western values while studying in Hong Kong); though the rooms are only large enough for small scale exhibitions. There were actually more visitors... More

There are many good reasons to visit the Sun Yat Sun Museum in Mid Levels, Hong Kong. The walk up to the museum is both invigorating (an easy taxi ride is an alternative) and allows the visitor to see much of the life and culture of the residents; the building in which the museum is housed is a wonderfully renovated... The museum has well-written explanations that explain the object or artifact at hand and provide helpful context. I'm a history teacher and think this is a key responsibility of museums, yet not all do this well. This museum would be enjoyable and worthwhile for someone with no knowledge of this part of Chinese history as well as visitors who know... More

If you are a fan of Dr Sun Yat Sen or want to know more about him and his achievements, then this place will not disappoint you. Unlike the one in Shanghai, where his old residence was made into a museum, this museum was initially an old residence of a wealthy local businessman. It is a place built on a... More

I visited this museum during a business trip. You can reach it by taking the mid-level escalators. Dr. Sun Yatsen was a huge figure in Chinese history and this museum does a good job of covering his life. I have also visited museums devoted to Dr. Sun Yatsen in Guangzhou and Nanjing. I think it is a very interesting place... More
