If you're in downtown Hong Kong, treat yourself to an hour long double decker bus ride and see the south side of the Island en route to this unique museum. Very well done, and free. Stanley Market is within walking distance after the museum visit...More

If you are visiting Stanley Markets take time out to visit the Correctional Services Museum. It is free. It is about a 10 minute walk from the markets. You need to head up the hill towards Stanley Prison. There are a number of small galleries...More

This was an excellent museum. They salvaged as much as possible considering the prison went through a World War. All the information, artifacts and pictures provided enough information so you got the drift of what went on in the prison system. My husband retired from...More

This is a really great look at the local corrections service. A really amazing collection of artifacts and historical items. New recruits around training and learning to march...... a lost art. They also sell its for collectors of law enforcement buffs. Well worth the 15...More

This is a very interesting museum which is small and probably needs about 1 hour. The introductory video is quite long but worthwhile if you can manage to stand for that long - no seats for some reason. There is a great deal of information...More

The museum is just outside Stanley and close to Stanley goal. It's a small museum but I enjoyed it. Some insights into the development of correctional services in HK. Worth even a short visit.

Very quiet, tiny but you should go. The hi light is the exhibition of dead penalty.

This museum is nicely put together with static displays of old and new parts of the HK prison system. Surprisingly similar to correction museums I've seen in the US and other industrialized countries (I guess crooks are the same all over). The display on the...More

It's nice that a free museum on this dour subject exists at all. But it's unlikely to take your breath away. The subject matter just isn't sufficiently interesting, though they do try their best.
