Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. We've been there but in the morning, might be around 10/11 am and all stores are still closed, they're still preparing to open. So sad, I forgot to search it since we're on a rush cuz it's our last day. We still took a round hoping that at least a store is open, unfortunately none so we just got contented by looking at the shoes' thru the glass walls. Hoping that we can go back there again at the right time.

Sneaker Street is one of two markets that you can visit along Fa Yuen Street in Mongkok. It is situated between Argyle Street to the north and Soy Street to the south. What you will find are several blocks of little more than shoe shops, mostly selling tennis and athletic shoes - hence the name Sneaker Street. There are a few shops dealing in dress shoes, outdoor shoes and other casual footwear as well.

Note: Many of the shops along Sneaker Street are now dealing in mostly in Nike and Adidas these days. Other brands like Puma, Sketchers and the likes are scattered around and there are still a few lesser knowns as well.

Note: In recent years, a new outdoor themed mall has opened along Fa Yuen Street called The Forest. There you will find outdoor specialists selling footwear as well as hiking, camping and other outdoor related gear.

Overall, Sneaker Street is a neat place to pass by and to do a bit of shoe shopping if you are in the area. Prices are reasonable and competitive, usually better than what you will find in similar places in large shopping malls. However, don't expect much in terms of dirt cheap prices for decent quality shoes at Sneaker Street.

All the big brands (Nike, Adidas, Reebok, New Balance, Puma, Converse) can be found up and down this section of Fa Yuen St, which is locally known as ‘Sneaker St’. Prices range from small discounts up to half price or more.
If you’re after the very latest colour or style, then you can expect to get only a small saving but if you’re simply looking to get some new runners then the savings can be big.
Most of the shops offer lower prices if you buy more than one pair (which is pretty easy to do). I recently bought a pair of Adidas runners and a pair of Superstars for less than half what I would expect to pay elsewhere (#87 Fa Yuen St).
The shoes here are the real deal. The shops are licenced sellers and the shoes are all displayed with labels that clearly show the price and sale price so you can compare prices easily. However be aware that if you go one street over to Ladies Market on Tung Choi St, you will definitely be looking at fakes.
‘Sneaker St’ does not run the full length of Fa Yuen St. It’s the part that runs between Argyle and Dundas Streets, parallel to Ladies Market. There is also a bit of spill-over into some of the side streets like Shantung and Nelson St. As it is so close to Ladies Market, it’s very easy to combine the two in a big shopping trip.
Shopping here can definitely be overwhelming the first time you go, especially if it's a hot day. The shops are air conditioned and you can sit to try on shoes but nevertheless, the sheer number of shops and variety of shoes can leave you feeling exhausted. It’s best to have an idea of what you want before you go and take a pair of your own socks for trying on shoes. If you’re buying for kids who are not with you, make sure you know their size in US, UK and European sizing. Even better if you can take one of their shoes with you (or an outline of their foot) for comparison.
Be aware that nothing will open until relatively late in the morning. There’s not much point going over before 11am as neither Sneaker nor Ladies Market will be open before then. On the upside, they both stay open late into the night and many of the shops will still be open until 10pm.
GETTING THERE: Public transport on the MTR is by far the easiest and cheapest way to get there. Catch the MTR to Mong Kok station and take Exit D3 which will bring you up very close to Fa Yuen St (see photo of map below).

I was really surprised when we spent like 2 hours looking for a good pair of sneakers and we only saw a portion of the street. Lot of offers and models. My advice is that you should keep one model and compare in all the sops that you can visit.

There are so many shops. But after a while it was the same things over and over. We didn’t go in all the shops but did go through more than half of them. I found if you buy two pairs it’s 20% off. Found shoes that I’ve never seen back home and it was cheap , so we bought a few pairs. I can’t say though if for new arrivals if they’re cheaper as I wasn’t really into those.
If you need a toilet, there was some opposite a big Nike store and you have to go up escalators. I think there was an ASIC store and eateries upstairs.
