Historically Chinese men loved the song birds as pet. They would bring their birds to the park in the morning to show off among their friends and acquaintances. This is a dying tradition. This park is where this tradition still takes place. Bird in cage lined up and hung on trees that one can walk up close to see and... More

Yes, you can make a day's outing out of this ... Recommended weekend excursion: Take the MTR to Mong Kok station, exit B3 on MongKok Rd. and turn right then left on Tung Choi St. This is the Goldfish Market - lots of aquarium fishes and other furry pets. Walk until you reached Prince Edward Road, cross it, and continue... More

It is not a large park and there are birds in small cages.I am not a lover of seeing birds in the cages in shops The cages are exquisite and expensive so you can understand why people want to give their animals the best. The owners are passionate and do seem to look after their animals who take them to... More

This is the Bird Market at Yuen Po Street - an extension of the Flower Market situated next to Mongkok Stadium. A fair number of bird species are sold at the market and there’s also an outdoor bird garden where bird collectors and owners meet. You'll also stalls selling live bird feed - large grasshoppers, crickets and other bird feed... More

Many large birds crammed into small cages. Very sad. I understand the bird park is part of Hong Kong's culture, but birds are not here for our entertainment. Please do not buy birds here; you will be facilitating continued abuse.

I thought I would see many shops of birds. Not too many, to my disappointment. Yet I found one close to the entrance where I saw an unusually long bird cage. I was told the bird inside always keeps leaping so the cage was specially designed for that kind of bird. Interesting.

an interesting place, not worth visiting unless visiting something else near buy. Birdsong is wonderful, but many bird sellers with large. Numbers of birds in cramped cages clearly distressed as plucking feathers from each other

I expected to see rows of bird cages hanging around and bird lovers interacting, but was greeted by a few pet shops instead. Disappointed! The only reason u can go there is if u are interested in visiting flower street, then u can take a look at bird street since it's nearby.

Not as pretty and interesting as we expected. Some beautiful song birds. We were put off by the tiny cages and some cages stuffed full with dozens of birds. NOT for animal lovers. Note this is intended for locals to show their birds and trade, it is NOT primarily a tourist venue. If your time is limited scatch this off... More

This park is small and a very interesting place to see whether you are a bird lover or not. It is really an outdoor pet shop. There are birds, cages, crickets and other items for birds -- everything you ever wanted if you own a bird or want to own a bird. There were millions of crickets which are used... More

Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy.
