Fa Yuen Street is apparently famous for sneakers and it really is. We had many chances to wander around here. We walked from the hotel and it took less than five minutes. Of all shops and stalls, there are plenty of shops selling cosmetic, sneakers, clothes, and accessories etc. If you are looking for a decent night market, Fa Yuen... More

Location : Around the Mongkok area Market : Pretty clean for a typical asian market with both dry and wet sections. Bustling with people, trolleys, vendors and merchandise. Cooked Food: I saw roasted pork, duck and chicken you can buy for take out. Market Items : A lot (See photo of directory). Interesting sea food or sea creatures for that... More

Each time we visit we usually end up buying something at this bustling market. Plenty of varieties of stalls to shop from, clothings, shoes, sundries, festival decor, fruits, local goodies, bags, phone accessories. Never a dull moment here.

Great selection of products and fruits on offer. The prices are attractive and there are things for everyone including many traditional offerings. Suitable for all ages.

One of those iconic Hong Kong style street markets that you see in travel brochure. This one is not as touristy as Mongkok so it is a little more comfortable to look around if you are sensitive about your personal space. They have a wide range of popular items which are similar to most of the street market. Bargaining is... More

Skip temple street if short on time. Just come here directly. Aside from better bargains, it's also friendlier stall holders in general and much cleaner.

We were given a heads up for this market as an alternative to the ladies and temple markets. We got there fairly early and it was not too busy, but we could notice it getting busier while we were browsing. Prices are pretty good and there seems to be less need to haggle (better prices seem to be offered earlier).... More

Not to be confused with the Fa Yuen Sneaker Street (just a few minutes' walk away), the Fa Yuen Street Market is a treasure trove of great deals, especially when it came to clothes and shoes! Pros: We spend close to 3 hours on this street alone and still could not finish checking out all the shops there. Most of... More

There are street markets all over the place in Hong Kong and this is one of the best. Some are for tourists, some are for the locals but this one, I reckon, is for both. Fa Yuen Street runs South off Prince Edward Road a few hundred metres East of the Nathan Road intersection and the Prince Edward MTR station.... More

If you're after something not so touristy then this will be the cheapest market to buy whatever you forgot to bring with you! There are some stalls that sell souvenirs but it is mainly for the locals to buy up their everyday items so haggling isn't usually going to get you a cheaper price in this market. It's worth a... Staying in Mong Kok

Neighbourhood Profile
Mong Kok
It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as “flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.
