As a tourist attraction, I rate the Peoples’ Assembly Hall, aka, Great Hall of the People, as “very good,” and for its functional use by locals, my rating would be “excellent.”

Awesome ancient Chinese architecture. Large, beautiful theatre on the inside.

People's Assembly Hall is one of the historic landmarks in Chongqing city and located opposite the Three Gorges Museum, the interior well maintained, and you need to pay about 10 元 if you want to see inside.

People’s assembly hall, is a big beautiful building with restaurants in the wing along wit other thing it inside is a big theater the seat several, sorry I don’t have the number. Outside in front there are fountains with dancing water . On the area in front of the fountains is a large concrete space the expense to the Three Gorges museum. At night the citizens gather and dance to the music and the dancing waters. I was last there in May of 20016

The People's Assembly Hall is a famous historical landmark for local Chongqing residents. The assembly hall is just opposite the three Gorges Museum. The interior is unique, and under the great dome it is a completely open space where the seating and stage is located. For those into archenteric it’s interesting to note that the pillars that surround the outside of the building hold the entire complex up. The square was full of families enjoying this place as well as many people doing Tai chi. I believe it’s worth the 10¥ to see the inside.

We did not have time to see the inside of the hall but the outside and surrounding areas are definitely stunning; and the view from the nearby museum are the best to take a complete photo of the area and entrance way.

Visited the assembly hall and you will be impressed by its size and vibrant colours. Sat atop a huge staircase it was built to impress and it does.

My suggestion would be not to pay the 10RMB to go inside, as the inside is very ordinary. It is a marvel to behold from outside.

Such fun. Great views of the hall which lights up at night.

We participated in some dancing in the square - any one can join one of the many groups who don’t mind each other’s music 😎

At the entrance price of 10¥ per person, you get access to the hall. You can climb the stairs and observe the hall, its stage and beautiful roof from all the seat levels and see some photographs about the history of the Assembly hall.
Right across from the People assemble hall is the three gorges museum, which is a free museum to visit.
