In terms of the city’s history and its people, this museum does a poor job in comparison to many other city or provincial level museums in China.

Closed on the Monday we visited. Fantastic spot for looking around outside though. There is plenty see in the neighbouring square and sitting on the steps gives you a great vantage point to view the assembly hall.

The museum was interesting. All the history of how the dam came to be. Amazing story of all the flooding and how they changed the direction of the river. Very pretty grounds to walk through.

The 3 Gorges post the scenic view one never can find in the world. The beauty of the vegetations and rocks are facinating to the artists.

The museum is in the Peoples park, and gives a very good display of Chinese history in the region, and it's multi-layered culture. Two hours minimum should be reserved to do it justice.
