I honestly don't understand how this is such a crowded tourist spot. Massively overpriced designer malls, ripoff "traditional food" and a dwarfed monument. The square itself is quite beautiful on a night and the monument is nice but is minuscule compared to the skyscrapers around...More

This is a very nice place for shopping and dining with the PLA monument Clock Tower as its landmark where crowds gather for photo taking. All the major retailers can be found here with the many restaurants, eateries, cafes, food courts, fast food in the...More

A good place just to stroll around and see the sights although I personally found it quite difficult to find orientation and it is very busy. A definite for the shoppers with all the big names around but also big prices (of course)..

This square is amazing. All the brand shops are next to the square. Must see place. Very tidy place in general. Best time to visit it is at night! You'll see amazing light shows on the skyscrapers.

You will definitely visit the square when you are in Chongqing. It's a beautiful square surrounded by huge skyscrapers and flashing neon advertising boards. Walk around the area for great restaurants and a real Chinese immersion experience.

Nice photo taking opportunity as the area is nicely lited. Other than that it is jus a clock tower in the midst of a square with tall buildongs around

That was how our guide described. Huge modern skyscrapers, upmarket shopping, smart eateries. largely pedestrianised. And in the middle, the once tall, now dwarfed, liberation monument. All strangely attractive.

A place of congregation for both tourists and locals. Thankfully, few peddlers and many police combed the area. Many up market shops, shopping malls and eateries. There is a supermarket in H&M building and opposite Gucci. Hong Ya Dong is 7 mins walk so include...More

I also suggest finding a tour as trains in China, although extremely good, can be hard to purchase tickets unless you can get them days earlier. They sell out very quickly and you may be disappointed.
