We took the metro to Jiefangbie Square. In the middle of the square is the liberation monument dedicated to the United States military for their aid in world war two. We walked from Jiefangbie to the Performing arts building. It looks like it was made...More

Compared to Honyadong (Hongya Cave) the Jiefangbei Square is much more modern, both being popular shopping areas in Chongqing. The center monument is the landmark, surrounded by modern shops. Nearby there is a food street, serving local dishes at pretty low prices. Quite an ordinary...More

Long street for pedestrians only. Lots of saleswomen selling flying minions which was fun to watch. Lots of Malls and a few Starbucks. Touristy area and attracts the younger locals. You could branch to other tourist attractions via the subway located here. The subway is...More

Went there during new year countdown, of course it was crowded but it was fun. It is sad that you can't bring balloons to the square now because a few years back people will release thousand of balloons during countdown. Still a few people still...More

It's a cool square, nothing too special though, just some expensive shops and cafes. Would recommend walking through but not a must-see.

This square is apparently referred to as the "Times Square of Chongqing". It is beautiful and clean with many high end stores around it. Definitely check it out if you are Chongqing.

There aren't a tonne of easily-accessible tourist destinations in Chongqing, so I would definitely recommend giving this one a go!! Nearby there is a food street and the monument in the middle. I would definitely go at night and get blown away by the lights...More

The Jiefang Monument is a must visit in Chongqing! The monument itself is rather small - a lonely monument standing in the center of a square, surrounded by all kinds of shops and all. People are here for the overwhelming shopping and food experiences. Expensive...More

I also suggest finding a tour as trains in China, although extremely good, can be hard to purchase tickets unless you can get them days earlier. They sell out very quickly and you may be disappointed.
