This was the only tourist attraction we stopped at Chongqing and we were very glad they stopped here - it was beautiful. Our guide, Lucy, was fantastic - and explained a lot of the history. We snapped some amazing photos and at the end bought...More

Je trouve que le Huguang guild est l’endroit le plus beau de Chongqing. C’est un avis personnel. Chongqing, like many other tourist cities in China, is getting very commercial, which in a way is losing its original beauty and appeal. For example Hongyadong, which is...More

It was interesting to see all of these historic buildings against the modern skyline. It was considerably less crowded when we were here which also made it more enjoyable.

This stunningly beautiful guildhall is, in fact, a series of buildings built by merchants 300 years ago; it has also housed a minor prince and provided space in the past for opera performances. Now, it is a series of buildings with museum exhibitions throughout and...More

A guild hall built nearly 300 years ago during the Qing Dynasty by migrant merchants and craftsmen as a place to gather and to trade. That it has survived so well is amazing and it is a gem of a museum. Our English-speaking guide was...More

We were on tour and did not know what to expect here. We were pleasantly surprised by this large complex of traditional buildings illustrating the old way of life through dioramas and old buildings. There was lovely authentic art available in the gift shop.
