So far this is my favourite live music venue in Beijing. We went for a metal cover night and the Chinese bands absolutely smashed Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Rammstein and many more, with some crazy mosh pits and headbanging. It was definitely on par with if not better than being in the London metal scene. I highly recommend going here for... More

Sadly this venue is rumoured to be closing :-( Went there on Friday night to see a 4 band bill. The place was packed and going off. 4 great bands including two new favourites for me, Big Wave and Hedgehog. Great sound, well mixed tasteful production and off the chain vibe Go before it's gone

A good place for rock/metal/punk/hardcore music lovers. Lots of live gigs of local and foreign bands. Beer price - from 20 RMB for a small bottle. The club placed in an nice old town "hutong" area.

If you're backpacking around Gulou Dajie & Nanluoguxiang / studying / working here, try catch a few of the local and sometimes international acts that play here. Great place to meet expats and locals, especially around JUE music & art festival etc, lots of stuff happening there at that time. I saw Baths there a little while back, and they... More

If you want to see some concerts of Chinese (but also foreign) bands this is one of the places you should check out. They have all styles of music, Punk, oi, ska, Rockabilly, Metal, etc. The beer is cheap, the people are nice. It is one of the places where you can see really good bands in a more familiar... More

I read about this place on internet looking for the Beijing's Metal scene. There I found a concert of the Army of the Jade Kirin (chinese industrial metal band) and I had one of the most exciting experiences I've ever had in China. The place is like a little garage with walls painted in black and it has a huge... More

Nice atmosphear, good bands, ok soundsystem, pretty cheap beer, cheap entrance fees, cool people, some annoyingly loud americans... What more could you ask for? I will definitely go check out some other bands there soon!

I went to mao livehouse on the recommendation of some locals that I know. It was about a block away from the hotel I was staying in (hutongren courtyard hotel- highly recommended). The neighborhood is great- lots of restaurants, bars, streetfood, shopping all around. the band that I saw was My Little Airport but I heard that it has a... More
