Though this tea house is famous for tea, my friend and I opt for their equally famous green tea ice cream. It costs CNY 9 and it is very delicious. Be expected a long queue to buy your tasty ice cream!

My sister and I were on a trip to Beijing and, as tea lovers, were determined to try tea at a teahouse. After running around the city all day searching for the ones we had marked on our itinerary and not finding them (they had closed and online info had not been updated) we were tired and frustrated and about to give up. We decided to go for a walk and came across this place! We had a pot of jasmine tea, and while it was a bit expensive, it was delicious. We had a great time sitting and sipping, and the teaware was beautiful. After our hot tea we decided to get a matcha milkshake to go and it was delicious! Definitely worth a trip if you have time and are looking for some good tea and snacks.

This was our first ever trip to China from the Uk. We love tea! We loved the shop itself and had a beautiful selection of teas to buy. It wasn’t busy when we arrived later in the evening. The staff weren’t able to speak English so my husband awkwardly purchased our goodies. Staff weren’t friendly particularly but it’s a great shop. Reading other reviews there are other tea shops to visit that will tell you stories about the origins of tea. Shame this one didn’t. I didn’t feel comfortable here really. Hubby is thicker skinned than me!

We came to Wuyutai Wangfujing because it was highly recommended as a place for tourists to get tea as gifts and while they do have a huge range, the service left much to be desired.

We visited the shop at around 830pm on a Friday evening and it wasn't all that busy. Even so, it was hard to get anyone to assist us. While most other tea shops will happily explain the different teas that they carry and it's health benefits (as we later found out), the staff at Wuyutai seem only interested in closing a deal.

Even so, we didn't let that deter us and ended up spending over 500rmb on a range of teas for friends and family. The final straw came as we were making payment. As we enquired about the tea containers behind the counter, we were rudely told to just help ourselves to what we want and not ask too many questions.

My advice is to give Wuyutai a miss and go for the smaller tea shops who will happily have a chat with you about the teas they carry and even offer you a cup or two to sample before buying - all for a much lower price and comparable quality. Wuyutai has clearly become too complacent to the needs of customers.

A few shops down from Wuyutai Wangfujing is Tenfu Teas with comparable range, competitive prices and very friendly tea ladies who do not pressure customers into buying something quickly. There are also a couple of small tea shops on Yandai Xie Street in Houhai who are friendly and wallet friendly.

Their jasmine tea ice cream is the best tea-flavored ice cream. It has all the fragrance of the jasmine tea, but in perfect ice team cone form.

This is a charming and low key Tea Shop with an amazing selection of teas. I find tea makes a nice take home small gift for friends and they also make several ice creams and they are delicious. I had the Red Jasmine.

They have lots of stores across Beijing. I've been to several of them. Service varies in different locations, but the selection of tea is always decent. They are best known for their jasmine tea. Some of their larger stores carry jasmine tea flavored ice cream - it's a must-try! It is mildly sweet and has the full aroma and slight bitterness of real jasmine tea. Delicious!
