We stayed at the Marriott City Wall just a block away from this museum. Being museum nuts, we were rewarded by finding a seldom-visited hidden gem. What’s this museum about? This is a “Customs” museum, as in border patrol and seizing contraband. There’s history of China’s laws on imports, duties, and similar topics. The museum is well curated and offers personalized tours by Customs’ employees. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The museum features seized contraband and counterfeits (go figure) and a full-size, interceptor ship that helped enforce law for decades. Budget about an hour for your visit. Not many signs were in English.
