We had a wonderful spring walk on a weekend here. It's free of charge and is very beautiful!
Plenty of marvelous cherry blossoms were blooming, there's a lake with lots of fish, which you can feed and fish, where you can hire a boat to go around. There is some paid playground for children, as well as a place where you can exercise for free.
Try visiting when the weather is nice and air is not polluted, it'll be a nice experience to see how the locals spend their time in the park; children playing, elder people dancing, some are walking, some are sitting around chatting with friends/family.

I love this park. There is always something happening. It is very well used by the locals of all ages. We visited a number of times and saw very few 'tourists'.

Around the lake area there are walkways, bridges and pavilions where you will find groups of people singing popular Chinese songs, or further along there may be a choir accompanied by traditional musical instruments. We even encountered a traditional 'wrestling' tournament!
Everyone is welcoming and don't object to visitors watching.
You can also buy fish food to feed the enormous koi that inhabit the lake.

There are motorised Ducks and Gunships that you can take out on the lake for a reasonable charge. Each vessel is equipped with a laser gun that when pointed at a target will activate a fountain and curiously treats you to a musical chorus of Nik Kershaw's The Riddle!

As previously mentioned, there is a small waterpark and children's funfair too. The waterpark was closed during our visit - it's Autumn.

A stroll around this park is a pleasant way to get away from the hustle and bustle of Beijing and see how the locals enjoy their outside space. If you're in the area and have an hour or two to spare, give it a go.

A very nice place for walk on afternoon, no matter what season. A really relaxing experience. We hope pollution could be reduced in Beijing so we can still enjoy places like these, without a mask. Recommended for everybody.

Sure it is not as good a Beihai, Jingshan parks or as nice as Ritan park as a tourist attraction. But if you have kids and time it is well worth a visit.

We live in Beijing with a kid and we often go to the Tuanjiehu Park with expats friends because it´s smaller than the Chaoyang Park and it is next to a street with many real and very good Chinese restaurants. This is a very Chinese Park, with many residents from the surrounding middle class area, worth a visit if you want a glimpse on the real Beijinger life.

Very peaceful with lots of activities too: outdoor exercise area, roller skating (you can rent skates), paddle boats, motor boat, children's play area but there are more than enough things to do for a afternoon with the kids. The entry is free but all activities are with a fee.
Also a Swimming area, perfect during those hot summer days, you will have a great time watching Chinese kids playing and adults discussing in the water. It is more expensive 40 yuan on weekdays and 50 yuan on weekends.

Tuanjiehu Park is located between Tuanjiehu station south east exit and Hujialou North East exit B line 10.

Please do take time to rate my review, if you like it.

From an French expat happily living in Beijing. Also, if interested please do check out my other restaurant and hotels reviews, you'll be surprised at how much an expat can learn about a city.

I've lived 11 years in London (successively in Shoreditch, Hampstead, Ealing and Camberwell), Paris (20 years), Brussels (4 years) and now 1 year in Beijing.

This park is a modest size and if you are on visiting BJ with limited time, BeiHai and other "lake-parks" are the must-see places, not here. BUT, if you want a calm local park because you are in that general area anyway, this is good. There is also a roller skating rink (skates are rented) and a whole beach area with artificial waves etc. These are the unique reasons to try this East 3rd Ring-located park.

Visited on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded. The cost must have gone up since previous reviews as it was 60 RMB per person. I thought the water seemed dirty, it was cloudy which was a little concerning. But overall it was a nice afternoon out with the kids.

Tuanjiehu Park is located between Tuanjiehu station south east exit and Hujialou North East exit B line 10. Go to the parks, they are just beautiful and if you need to refresh go to the swimming area. Guarantee you will have a great time. Now it is more expensive 40 yuan on weekdays and 50 yuan on weekends.

Visited this park several times, most recently yesterday when went to the water park located inside the park. Tip is to get there early, especially on weekends as it gets very crowded, but there is plenty to keep young children entertained for a couple of hours.

This is a lovely park but quite small with not much to see. Go to Beihai instead.

As Beijing has no beach, this beach park is a good alternative. Nice little sandy beach, swimming pool with waves and water slides - fun for young and old. Not the biggest selection of food and drinks, but prices very reasonable.
