Located in the Qianmen area this is a street famous for its delicious traditional snack food. This is the place to get a taste of old Beijing with time honoured brands like Bianyifang Roast Duck Restaurant and Tianxingju Fried Liver. Many shops sell old Beijing snacks and specialties and boast a golden plaque detailing their origins. While old brands and traditional snacks and crafts have disappeared from other parts of the city, they have been revived on this street. This is now the food street with not only Beijing's local restaurants but also international and regional restaurants and goods with cultural and ethnic flavour as well. A great place to absorb the sights, smells and flavours of old Beijing.

Busy street with loads of food places plus lots of other shops. Did suspect it was a tourist trap but on reflection I don't think so as there were very few westerners there. There's lots of gimicky things in the shops but the atmosphere was great. Try the tea flavour ice-cream!!
