We visited the great wall and had a great time, although it was quite misty/foggy you lost out on some of the great views from the wall itself. This is a strenuous day out and you need to be fairly active to fully enjoy the...More

On arrival at the Great Wall I was shocked about the amount of people climbing the steps of the first flights of stairs, but the further you go it's thinning out to only the fittest going all the way to Fortress 12... Take a water...More

My buddy and I chose this part of the great wall to visit, and it was for sure the best part! We saw some awesome sights and met some great people there also.

If for no other reason the Great Wall has to be seen to be believed. The engineering feat alone to construct such a massive wall in its time is simply overwhelming. The wall is not for the feint hearted but you don’t have to attempt...More

I am a senior with a knee injury but still managed to have an awesome experience. There are a lot of stairs and the footing is uneven but if you take your time, it is very doable to walk from tower 14 (where the cable...More

Beautiful views, streamlined process, coming down the toboggan was the highlight for my boys. Wear comfy shoes that are fully covered as there are centipedes around on the steps.

I went to a more scenic part of the Great Wall that is less overcrowded and less overconstrcuted. It was an absolutely phenomenal experience to explore each of the watchtowers and embrace the spirit of China in the olden days. It would be better if...More

The Great Wall should be on everyones bucket list. It is amazing. We went to a quiet part. Went up with a cablecar and down with a slide. The views were great and it was not busy at the time we were visiting.

I had the chance to visit while in Beijing on business. Really worth the (not that long really) drive. Take the cable car, walk along the wall, come down the Toboggan. Spot on. Well worth the effort and some fabulous scenery Toilets.... not ideal.

Outstanding and beautiful section of the Great Wall. Scenery was breathtaking on a crystal clear blue sky day. Relatively near to Beijing and worth time it takes to travel to get there.

We did our tour through China Highlights, which I would highly recommend, so you might want to check the cost for their driver only service. Depending on where you are going, such as to the airport or just around city, it... More

Easiest would be to ask the taxi driver when you use a cab in the city. ... But if time is not an issue for you, you can take a public bus from the Dongzhimen bus station to Mutianyu. That'll cost next to nothing, but prob... More

Depending on how quickly you walk allow 15-20 minutes from one tower to another. There are steps up and steps down and walking paths that are flat in between each tower. So 9 towers is likely 2-3 hours of walking.
