We visited this section of the Wall on a beautiful winter day. I was traveling with senior citizens, so the gondola taking everyone up the mountain was very helpful.

We went there early in the morning to avoid the crowd and we walk across the wall moving west for about 2 kilometeres. The Wall itsself is a miracle and the surrounding forest is so beautifull.

We did this part of the wall and loved it. It’s about 1.5 hr from Beijing. We used a private cab to get there. You can either take the cable car up to the wall or walk about 1800 steps to reach there. We did...More

Rather than taking one of the expensive tours, we arranged for a taxi (fixed rate for the day) to take us to the Wall. The hotel had told us that this was a much-less-known part of the Wall. It may not be as well-known, but...More

You will have to haggle - a taxi might not be your best option - there will be lots of people near the taxi stands that will offer you rides all over Beijing and The Wall. Do not pay more than 750 RMB to get to the Wall and... More
