Visited the Wall with China Highlights guide, Eva. The weather was perfect and Eva was extremely passionate and informative about the history of the Wall, It was quite overwhelming and merits another visit. Eva also took us to Tiannamen Square and the Forbidden City. I was amazed at the number of domestic tourists visiting these sites. Visiting these sites with... More

I finally got to get the Great Wall off my bucket list . It was a foggy cool rainy day . There is a cable car that is great but there is still a lot of walking . Please wear tennis or walking shoes the surface can get slippery . Great experience!

This was the highlight of my trip to China. I took a tour bus to the bottom cable car tram to the top met some great people on the tour, walked from tower 14 to tower 23 and back. Be prepared for a difficult walk up the many steps to arrive at the peak tower 23. It is an experience... More

One of the local tour operators (not on Tripadvisor unfortunately) took us out to the old wall and dropped us off in a little village, where we started our hike. Mutianyu is way less crowded than Badaling. The guide was extremelyy informative and so much fun. We spent about 4 hours hiking the ruins of the wall until we reached... More

The walk along the wall brings you back in time. Cannot fathom how difficult life would have been for some of the guards in the winter months.

3 years ago we went by public bus, which was a bit difficult to find. This year we booked a tour, that saves time a lot, so you can also watch some show in the evening. We booked a tour in the hostel. 7.30am from a hotel, 4pm came back. Tour includes transportation, lunch, entrance ticket. To take a Cable car... More

Fantastic views and vista, with the Wall disappearing into the mist, which sort of added tp the mystique. Apparently we were lucky to strike a quiet day, so getting photos without too many others, wasn't too difficult. We put some snacks into our backpack, which turned out to be very welcome, once out on the wall. Hiking up and down... More

Not too many people. Great hike. Try the roller coaster down. If clear sky you can see the television tower in Beijing. My favorite place for a hike.

Went with Beijing hikers to a more remote part of the wall. Not restored and you have to be careful. But very much worth the effort. The best part is having accomplished it. Beijing hikers is very thorough and worth the prize.
