Arrived around 10 in the morning, decided to do the cable car both ways since we were travelling with elderly people. Somehow the weather worked with us and gave us an amazing view of the wall from the cable car. Not many tourists at the time. Once we reached the end of the ride and enter the Mutianyu section I was... More

Absolutely breathtaking....You need to be prepared it is very steep and with many people stopping suddenly it can be overwhelming. Even walking/Climbing a few steps counts. Well worth the visit

We were very short on time but wanted to squeeze in a visit to the Great Wall. We visited on a Friday in April and got to the ticketing center at 9am. We took the cable car up and based on a tip from someone, we headed left and explored about 1 hour in that direction (less crowded) before turning... More

The Great Wall is impressive, and this section is one of the best since it is not very difficult to walk. But take into account that the GW has always lots of high stairs and very steep zones. When you arrive to the visitors center you will have to pay an entrance fee, but you have to buy separately the... More

You just can't not visit this! It summarizes China. Definitely do the slide to get back down. There are western food outlets at the entrance after ticket purchase area. Like Subway and pizza and Burger King

This is a reconstructed part of the wall, and very touristy. Like in all big entertainment areas in China, there's a modern visitor centre with nice facilities at the entrance to the park. You pay ticket to the wall and separately another one to the cable car. But beware that it's quite a walk up to the cable car. Although... More

not so far from Beijing, an historical place to appreciate the hardship with which the wall is built. Beautiful views. Since I visited during spring, the trees were blossoming and the weather was fantastic.
