Beautiful scenery, clean, and well preserved. The skylift and slide down were so much fun. Easy to reach. We took bus line 916 express to Huairou North Avenue (Huairou Beidajie) Station and a black taxi to the wall.

Loved it. Far surpassed my expectations (which were pretty low - knowing China, I was imagining theme park). It was also really cold, so there weren't many people at all. Had it been super crowded probably not so cool.

Seeing the Great Wall was definitely a bucket list item and going to the Mutianyu section did not disappoint. Fantastic views and photo opportunities. This section is restored and fairly easy to walk along, though you should be aware there are lots of steps. It might also be good to know that you do need to ride in a cable... More

Coming during low season so not of tourist and we can really enjoy the wall and the view. Although cable car is available with extra fee yet its still require a lot of energy to climb and its getting stepper to reach one of the end point. Prepared your self if you bring young children. For those love trail running... More

The Great Wall at Mutianyu was a great day out, with fantastic views and scenery. The climb was tough but rewarding once you reach the highest peak. Don't be afraid to climb over the wall at Tower 20, as the best views are only another 100m higher. The only negative was we felt the day was a bit pricey, however... More

This was the most amazing thing we saw in China, and that is saying a lot! In February it was empty! No crowds, very few foreigners. The view is fantastic and you must see the wall up close and in person to believe it!

It was cold and snowing the day we visited. The paths were very icy and slippery. We didn't get past the first watch tower as it was quite dangerous. The views were beautiful still and the snow made for some great photos. We did not have a guide and so there was no commentary. The toilets here are a bit... More

Whichever the wall you are going, is impressive. Take layers with you and water. Plus a hat. If you go in an excursion like I did, try to skip the ivory factory tour and instead go for a cup of tea or coffee. Besides that, the Great Wall is best enjoyed in low months and with fewer tourists. There is... More

I went to China with my Auntie. We joined a group tour and one of the stop was Great Wall. I got so excited seeing the Great Wall from the bus and from our Chinese History class. I became an eager beaver when it was about climbing the Great Wall. I never made it to the top as the climb... More

We took a private taxi & spent a couple of hours here. Took the cable car up & down but it was still a bit of hiking to get to the cable cars. I would have done the toboggan down but it was freezing cold. Plenty of places to eat or drink at the bottom of the hill. Another bucket... More
