Variety of gifts and reasonable prices. Most of everything in the market are bargainable. Pearls are exceptionally good price for the quality. You can get prescription eyeglasses made in two hours.

It was a good experience. There are pearls of all sort- the obvious fake to may be genuine. And silk , handbags, electronics. The top floor shops do not accommodate much bargaining but they will also definitely lower the price - a lot . The top floor shops are decent and helpful. Ground, first and second floors are all for bargaining. Mindy Jewelry is a nice place with both fresh and saltwater real pearls. They speak English well too.
There are some nice shops in ground floor too (eg: no. 94 & 86) where you can get good price for silk through bargaining. The silk might not be 100% but there are beautiful designs.

Not as big as i expected, I wouldn't come back, i didn't buy anything. There are more pearl shops than any other. I had a delicious lunch in the basement.

Nothing spectacular about the mall and it was not crowded when I was there. Would have expected to see a lot of stores but most were jewelry shops selling pearls.

The Pearl Market is what tourists are looking for. Cheap stuff and you have to want to and be good at bargaining with the shop keeps. It is the classic back and forth and these days they can be a bit aggressive. The mall is really really quiet but you will find everything from jewelry, hand bags, pack packs, electronics, t-shirts and traditional clothing. It's fun but also very tiring.

Fabulous place to shop, great deals! Shops are very clean and English is spoken fluently. Canadian cash is accepted. Very few vendors accept credit cards due to bargain prices. Clothing, shoes, purses, costume jewelry and jade. Fine jewelry stores accept credit cards.

The market is accessible even using public transport such as the train which is about 200m away. Be ready to negotiate as most things are overpriced. You may need a bit more time here as the negotiations can take a while but its worth negotiating. Silk scarfs are initially be charged at 50yuan or so but the price can go down to a third of the proce

My wife and I went the Pearl Market in July 2019 and it was interesting to see all the fake goods for sale. Don't be fooled, EVERYTHING is fake. The quality of the goods is pretty poor overall with a few exceptions. If you do want some fake goods, we found about 20% of the asking price would get us the item. You can get some things for 10% of the asking price. Make sure to triple check the sizes since a "large" is seldom an American large and the same size shirts were very different with each vendor.

The vendors can be SUPER AGGRESSIVE during negotiations. More than once I had vendors physically try to pull me away from my wife during negotiations so they could try to get a higher price from her. These tactics upset my wife, but I found it amusing.

On the positive side of things, the McDonald's in the Pearl Market was one of the only places we found ice being served. After two weeks of drinking warm or hot water in July, the ice was amazing.

After 6 month everything we bought at the market has broken or fallen apart.

Pearl Market (Hongqiao Market
The market is interesting fun to go to specific booths or venders . We have friends there that don’t try to rip you off and actually are great people and vendors . Go to the escalator and get a coffee from Sylvia she wonderful and will get you some tea or bailey’s and coffee or Irish coffee. Elvis is on the 4 floor of the new market he a must go to for quality purses. Henry is three booths in on the side entrance he can fix any phone with oem or Chinese product .
Anne is great for glasses and will match your script or puff your eyes there. Nancy is in the old market third floor far right side and sells beautiful pearls (real).
