This is a spiritual place very close to the heart of Beijing. The place is very nice and quiet. Temple is worthy to visit. Boat riding in the lake is also enjoyable. This is also a must visit place anyone visiting Beijing

We could see this park from the top of Jingshan park, especially its landmark white Dagoba. As it was near Jingshan park, we walked here after visiting Jingshan park. Quite nice to walk around, expecially around the lake.

This is the perfect place to visit, if you need a break from city hustle and stress. Beautiful lake with lotuses, trees swaying gently in the wind. We took a relaxing boat ride which adds to the experience. Highly recommended.

The Beihai Park scavenger hunt with Bespoke travel was the best way to experience Beihai park with the family. So many interesting places, stories and details to discover in one glorious place. Kids can’t believe they have learnt so much while having so much fun.

One of my favourite places in Beijing. Beautiful Park to walk and relax in. Take a boat trip to see the Lotus beds. Hire a boat on the main lake. It is a must to climb through the various temples on Jade Island to get to the White Pagoda and on the North West side there are a number of temples and ancient buildings to explore including the nine dragon screen.

Many things to see in this beautiful park and enjoy the fresh breeze off the lake waters. There are the lake, willow trees, lotus plants, fish in the water ( possibly young Koi fish), buildings and structures, ancient style bridge, and more. Great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Beihai Park is very close to the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park. I made a friend at Jingshan Park called David, who spoke good English. He took me around the best bits of Beihai park.
Beihai Park is beautiful park and it was good getaway from the huge crowds in Forbidden City. We saw the wall of the nine Dragon, Pavilions, Pergolas, Gazebos all incredibly beautiful. It was beginning of November and cold, so there were no boats on the man made lake.
David played his flute at five Dragon Pavilion, which is amazing. He told me that he and the locals played, sang there regularly.
I really enjoyed at this park.

This park is simply breathtaking and beautiful. It’s quite large and peaceful. I recommend going here your first day in Beijing, to relax and get acclimated to the city.
You enter from the south and walk up to the Jade Flower island, home of the White Pagoda. This amazing temple was built over 1000 years ago for a visit from the fifth Dali Lama. The view from the white pagoda is breathtaking, and you can see out over old Beijing.
The center of the park is a large lake. Take a ride in one of the amazing dragon boats and cross to the north side of the park. From there be sure and visit the nine dragon wall which was built over 1000 years ago as a birthday present for Kubla Khan.
You can dress in old authentic emperor clothes and get photos made by the wall. This is touristy but fun and we enjoyed it tremendously.
Huge thumbs up. I highly recommend this park.

I entered Beihai Park through the gate opposite the entrance of the road to Prince Gong's mansion. Wonderful garden leading to the Nine Dragon Wall which is very impressive as there are only three of such in China. Very good photo opportunity. After that, if you are in a hurry, you could take a nice electric cart ride to the other side of the park where the White Pagoda is. Otherwise, a lovely stroll could do also. Very advisable to climb to the top where the White Pagoda is as the view is very rewarding! You can pay a further 3RMB to climb to a spot where you can see Jingshan Park and the Forbidden City, very impressive!

Recommend to go around 6pm in June? Will it be too dark to explore?
Written 15 March 2019
Anytime after 6pm is good, there will still be plenty of daylight and after 6 the temperature starts to cool which is good as June is very hot in Beijing. Enjoy Beihai Park!!

In which part of the park is the 9 dragon wall located? I mean the one in the park not the one in the Forbidden City.

It is on the north shore of the lake. Easiest to reach is by entering the north gate (closest entrance if you come by metro.
Station: Beihai North)

How many stories of stairs do you think there are? What time of year did you go? We are coming first week of March.

I donot know exactly but it should not be that difficult to get to the top of the small hill. I was there a couple of times. I was there during Xmas breaks 2012/2015, Thanksgiving break Nov 2014. The Dec 2012 was extremely cold and we played on the icy lake. Last Dec was not cold enough so the the lake was not totally frozen yet.

Any suggestions on where to have a casual lunch inside or near Beihai Park? I have a group of about 15 and want to plan ahead. Thanks and I appreciate your time to answer. Aloha and Mahalo Nui Loa !

There is a cafe inside this park but mainly sells snack foods and ice creams, cold drinks. No hot drinks though.
