Being interested in politics I always like to visit parliaments when traveling, so the Great Hall was a really interesting experience for me. Finding the entry was the main difficulty, I found the ticket office easily but spent 5-10 minutes walking around the hall before...More

The Great Hall is right next to the Tiananmen Square in the heart of the city. It's a huge complex which houses the policy makers of China, though entry is restricted only to officials & People's representatives and not open for General Public.

I just visited the Great Hall of the People. Coming from the US this was on the top of my bucket list. It took some research to figure out how to access it. It is open most days and the ticket booth is on the...More

A huge State building at the western edge of Tiananmen Square with an enormous conference hall. It is used for legislative and ceremonial activities of the Government. Historical events have taken place here and there are nice murals and paintings on the walls.

Easy to visit but not much to see. Ok to see the great Hall with space for 10.000 people. This is the political center in a very big building. Nice experience to have been here - nothing else.

This is a gigantic building, located just next to Tiananmen square. We were suppose to visit it, but while queuing, we were informed there's an unexpected diplomatic visit, so the place will not be open to the public. All we could do is admire the...More

Symbol of an authoritarian system. Largest conference hall in the world. A bit boring but worth seeing.
