The climb up the stairs is a good physical work out! Straight up to the top. Once there you are rewarded with lovely views of the city well at least 180degree view as the terrace does not go around the building. A number of times...More

We went into a tea room out the back and 2 lovely girls gave a tea taste and explanation lesson. I really enjoyed the different teas and there health uses. They gave us about 8 teas to taste and then showed us through their shop....More

Far enough away from Tianamen Sq./TFC complex to feel like you're in a unique part of the city, yet close enough to walk, jump on a bus, take a taxi, these two historic towers are worth the visit. Perhaps a little more expensive then their...More

These were worth seeing. They ring the bell in the morning and then play the drums in the afternoon, having shows on the hour. They aren't big or "wow" moments, but they were interesting and worth seeing.

The towers are very picturesque from the outside and on the inside. It is a steep climb up the stairs in both towers, but worth it. The bell tower has better views from all four sides, whereas the drum tower is more interesting for what's...More

Up beside the southern end of the Houhai Lake area, which is very market driven for locals and tourists, the Drum Tower requires one to ascend a very long and steep stairway to arrive at the top where the drums are located. Make sure you...More

The Bell and Drum towers is a must see in Beijing – more so for the people watching on the huge square between the two towers and for the tea ceremony in the Bell Tower. We visited late afternoon at the time when the sun...More

Worth seeing from outside but view great. I listened to the drums from the bottom of the stairs which you have to pay for. You can't really hear them from further. The steps are amazingly steep!

There are a handful of western eateries, but, the signs are in Chinese and run by locals, so, you might not get ze correct taste. Personally, I wont even walk into the big M. Hope you find what you are looking for.
