I came upon this 9 Dragon Screen on my way to the Treasury Room within the Forbidden City. This ceramic tile screen (seemed to be 30 to 40 feet long) and featured 9 huge dragons, each one different. It was awesomely cool.

It is located outside the Palace of Tranquility and Longevity 宁寿宫. One of the three ancient nine-dragon screens in China, this one in the Forbidden City is the most exquisite. The entire wall has blue clouds as background and green swirling water as its base. They are well sculpted to give the 3D effect.

This would look great as a wall in our garden.

The colours are lovely. All 9 dragons are different if you look carefully.

Nice photo opportunity

The wall was impressive and beautiful. When I visited the Forbidden City, there were a lot of people at the start but not in front of these dragons because the wall is in the inside of the Palace. I think everyone will enjoy standing in front of the dragons and taking pictures of them. They are truly beautiful

This is on the east side on the inner portion of the Palace Museum complex. It is part of the general admission and certainly with a look as part of your Palace Museum experience.

Worth the walk to the back of the venue, use the portable trip guide to find this wall and understand the story

We were told that this is one of two Nine Dragon Screens in China, the other being just outside Guangzhou. We had seen the one outside Guangzhou so this completed the 'set'. Apart from that it is nothing really special and not worth a special effort to see it but if you are there, why not.

This is a must see. This carving is unbelievably beautiful. The glaze is as fresh as if it was done today.
