Well... it is not a world class standard safari. This place seems a bit poorly maintained. The animal cages and fences could most certainly be expanded to give the animals more space.
The highlight of this safari would be the Bears, Tigers and Lions. They used to be able to roam freely in an enclosed area and you could drive your car and see them right next to you. However, this was a safety lapse, and a few incidents occurred resulting in visitor deaths. An electric fence now separates them from your vehicle.

Went with some friends and thought it would be a good attaraction for the kids. This place is so run down and filthy, it is unbelievable. Trash is everywhere, even in the aminal enclosures. Reminds me of Russia in the 70s. Forget it, it is not worth the money.

Let me firstly say I am not an animal activist. I like a good quality zoo as much as the next person. I am also very conscious of the cultural differences between the Chinese and Australians.
This place was awful. Within a minute of reaching the first 4m x 3m cages i the hot sun with no shelter, cement floors and no water I knew we had made a mistake coming here.
After 10 minutes of watching the Chinese teasing and honking horns at the animals I had had enough. I told our tour guide to get us out of the park.
Problem - there is one road out - behind the thousand other cars following the "safari" trail.
So for the next 1.5 hours we continued to endure the spectacle of dust, malnourished animals, unkempt animals either missing fur or dread locked until we could finally get out.
As i said, there is obviously a cultural divide here as the Chinese were lining up in droves and loving it. To add to the disgust, it is quite expensive also.
My final thought - I'm cheering for tiger that mauled the people last year. I don't blame it at all.

Went to this so called safari park after visiting the great wall. Honestly this park as many people have stated is absolutely terrible.
We went with a group of people on a caged bus. The bus ride through the park took approximately 20-30 mins. We passed animal enclosures and the animals were not roaming around and was actually enclosed in cages and gates. The poor animals look malnourished and distressed.
Very little excitement and utterly disappointed with the experience.
Save your money and go elsewhere.

If your idea of fun is to be jam-packed in a ramshackle Safari vehicle that's decades old with rusty cages and barely being able to see the animals in distress from the tiny little viewing holes, then go for it. But if you're a sane, responsible traveler, who enjoys watching animals free and healthy, then avoid this attraction like the plague. Not only do you not get a good view of the animals as it is always full of tourists and cars blocking your view, the animals living there are also clearly suffering from abuse and malnutrition. It is perhaps my least enjoyed attraction in the whole of China.

Poor animals, you can drive with car inside where bears lions and tigers are, people in cars honk and chases the bears with cars. People throwing garbage in the apes cage no stuff to stop them there are also tigers in very small cages and people smashing with sticks on cage so the tiger will move again no stuff to stop them. Inside zoo they are selling junk food so you can feed horses and deers, disaster of the zoo.

We spent the morning at the Great Wall and since it was quite the drive, we decided to come here despite reading some of the bad reviews....lesson learned, we should have listened.
This was probably my worst experience and memory of Beijing. Everything about this place was wrong and it felt like animal abuse? The cages are SO SMALL and SUPER DIRTY and I felt sick to my stomach, because by going to the park, I am somewhat supporting what’s happening.
We had our own private car and we made our way around the park. You see a lot of animals but they are locked up or limited to movement within a certain area.
Ugh, I wish I didn’t come here and I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place as an attraction during your stAy in Beijing.
