This park ( free of charge)in my opinion, is one of the most valuable sights in Beijing. Located at Chongwen men,with near 2 square metre walls left from Ming dynasty. Every brick stands here for such a long time that it is clearly not a fake thing to compare.Here you can walk and see thousand year old trees stand by the wall,and also,you can choose to pay CNY2 to climb onto the blocks of the old town of beijing ,which is the largest one . On March ,flowers blooming here ,all pink and green.

Chongwenmen station Exit B. Walk across the street and walk a couple of hundred metres.
The wall section is over 1 km long, beautiful park is along the wall. After 1+ kms, you will come to the SE corner tower, where an old gate entrance cut into the wall many years ago.
10RMB to get into the tower, worth the visit just to walk along the wall and get into the tower. One side has the park, on the other side of the wall is the train tracks.
If you like history, you have to go.

Like others we discovered this by accident on a walk from our hotel (Novotel). We started following it one day and found it impressive and well landscaped. Along the way you will see some amazing little panels and photos of the historic buildings that used to be there before they were demolished. The wall park ends in the museum Arrow tower which is itself impressive. Along the way you pass the old railway signal station now in the middle of the park (including toilets). The museum is worthwhile and quiet *(unusual for Beijing), inside on the second floor be sure to see the dioramas and photos of all the old gates and building that were once in the area before being demolished in the sixties. AS others have said, not a major attraction but if you are nearby it's definitely worth a visit ! Our kids loved it!

Beautiful park if you are already in the area. I wouldn't say this is worth it if you are having to go out of your way but I very much enjoyed a stroll through here as our hotel was right at one end of it. A well kept park to enjoy a nice day and eat a lunch if you have one to go.

Despite being less than 200m from our Hotel (Novotel XingQuao) this was nont on the hotel's promotional material nor on any of the maps or general tourist information. It was, however a real 'hidden gem'. The park is relatively narrow and located beside a busy street but is bordered on its north by the surviving remnant of the old Ming City Wall. At the western end there is an old Arrow Tower which is exceptionally well maintained (and exceptionally interesting and almost deserted) and from which you can walk back part-way along the top of the wall (and can see the rest of it from there). The park and many of the surrounding highways are located in what pictures from the turn of the century show was the moat. The buildings that were inside the wall are now gone and the north of the wall is now all railway lines leading into Beijing Railway Station.
Locals use the park itself for just strolling, tai chi or what they call 'square dancing' (synchronised dance routines, usually by middle aged women - with a smattering of men and younger women - to music usually provided by a 'boom box'). They obviously have a great time and it is a lot of fun to watch (novices are inducted into the routines off to the side by experienced dancers and join in when they are more confident of the steps).

My friend and I stumbled across the Ming City Wall Park, and it ended up being one of the better non-planned activities of our 3 days in Beijing. If you want to walk amongst the history and architecture of several hundred years of history, you owe it to yourself to visit here. We visited on a Thursday morning around 11AM and we saw less than 15 people, it was incredible. Our recommendation is to pay the small fee (I believe it was less than $5) and walk the beautiful interior grounds and structures. There are several great vantage points to take in the city around you, and there are no throngs of crowds or vendors. A great hidden gem in the heart of Beijing, easily accessible from the subway lines as well. A hour is ample time to explore this small piece of history that is surrounded by modern life. There is a small visitor's center, however we were able to navigate the grounds with a map displayed at the entrance. A definite off the beaten path find, would recommend.

After battling the crowds at Tianamen Square walking south for five minutes to this ancient park was just the respite needed. Wonderful colorful landscaping, locals milling about, and the walls of the Ming Dynasty in view. Great way to spend an hour.

This is a very quiet park and good for a picknick or eveningstroll when in the area. There are several picknick tables, and also there are displays around with some historic information. Walked the full length in some 30 minutes, and on one side is a “watchtower” which can be visited.

Once these walls were 24 klms in length around the city, now this 300 m section is the only section following their demolition by the Govt in the 1960s to make way for roads and train lines............ If you have been to Xian (Terracotta Warriors) and seen the city walls, that is what these would have looked like.

I think that it’s fair to say don’t exert yourself to make this a must visit. But I could also be unfair in saying that, as many friends who visit Beijing often remark how sad they are that Beijing no longer has wall round it. And how Mao took the wall down for progress of the city and blah blah blah. So when I tell them, but what about the Ming Wall relic park, they are surprised and disappointed they did not see it. So if you’re a history buff and want a taste of what old Beijing’s Wall looked like until the 1950s at least, then this last remaining corner of the Ming period city wall (and impressively restored Fox Tower) is a mus visit. I say just because it’s the only part left.
There’s about 300 meters of walking wall and then a kilo of so if unrestored wall Yiu can look at but can’t walk on. It’s a bit interesting. The Tower is rather good and the art gallery I hear will Close soon (Dec 2017). But the small museum inside the Fox Tower will remain I believe.
If you are reading this and want to see more of Beijing historical walls, there’s an older section of Yuan Dynasty rammed earth wall in Nth Beijing. But it’s really a bit unimpressive. So localized in the bush and worn down by age you’d be forgiven for not realizing what it was. You can find the Yuan Dynasty wall beside the China University of Political Science and Law in Haidian District.
