Very friendly and helpful security that let us in without passportnumber. Nice and brief stop to see the beautiful architecture and some fun stories on them. Nice and quiet escape from the busy city.

The Mandir, (Temple) is an old temple dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan. It’s main attraction is the eye catching colourful double doors with carvings of the ten known avatars of God per Hinduism. The doors have been maintained well over the years.

Recommend all visitors to see this temple

You dont ahve to be a hindu to be welcome in that temple. the place is a holy place for hindu people and it is very well kept and with good people. All you have to do is respect the place and dont alk with your shoes expecially the inside.

This free to enter Hindu temple has more colours than a rainbow! Seeing all this colour set my brain up for a very happy morning indeed, although some of the images were rather scary - the warnings about how you will be ravaged in hell for drinking or stealing or eating meat in this life.
The artwork is beautiful but we would have benefitted from having a guide as we didn't really know what we were gawping at! I guess it is a working temple, not a tourist attraction as such. You can just enter for a few minutes. It's a small place but gorgeous. There is another temple within walking distance but we didn't visit that one.

A fascinating visit is guaranteed here. This temple is totally different than all others in that stories are told by paintings and frescoes.
This place is a must see.
