An excellent walk around, containing many habitats. Many birds and an easy/safe/cheap opportunity to photograph birds/wildlife within the city limits. The guide was knowledgeable and patient.

Great for nature lovers, the only reason I went was to sit with the giraffes lol. The guides take you round on foot and explain everything into depth about the place which was nice. At the end we got to sit with the giraffes and ostriches, you can also do your own BBQ here as benches and tables are provided next to the giraffes.

Not sure why all the negative comments from others, obviously dont appreciate the great things in life!! This is one of the best experiences ive done! Wow! What a great morning we had. Omar i think his name was showed us around and pointed out lots of interesting things to see and information. He is a truly wonderful guide and i hope this review will be seen by him as he made our trip incredible! He giraffes are incredible, to be able to walk 2 feet away from them is unreal. They all look in fantastic condition too. The ostrich was fun and antelope were all great to see so close. Please try this exeperience when you are here, you would have to pay hundreds for this in england or SA. It cost around £5 each!! Thank you so much for a great morning.

We arrived there eventually but the road to get there is trecharous , not for the faint hearted. We paid using MPESA which easiest when in Kenya. Instructed to drive to the parking then we waited a while for the guide. We had to ask what was happening and were told we were waiting till feeding time. We thought it was a rather large place but eventually guide took us around and unfortunately the man that took us around wasn't as confident in English. We were advised that the site had 30 giraffe, 1 ostrich and a few oryx around. Took about 15mins to get round. The giraffes were fed and it was fascinating seeing them so up close. But for experience for the children to see animals it was ok, but not great.

Amazing place and an opportunity to see giraffes and ostrich up close. However the place is infested with ticks and mites. Me and the family got bitten all over.

I went there and the service did not Impress at all.
The welcome with giraffes was amazing but the rest became more of a blur.
Really wanted to go for the nature walk which I requested but did not get to enjoy.
There is so much room for improvement.

I visited with my mum and it was amazing. We took a tuk tuk from Bamburi Beach Hotel and it took 20 minutes. He was such a careful driver especially as the road was horrendous leading into the park due to recent heavy rains. We had agreed 400 shillings return trip but we gave him 1000 because he was so amazing and the tuk tuk was new and lovely to sit in. His name was Onesmus Tuktuk 00 254 725 068 793 if calling from outside Kenya or 0725 068 793 if calling from inside Kenya.

Entrance fees 800 shillings per adult (children much cheaper and residents cheaper still but we are tourists from the UK). A guide took us around, it's quite small so not much walking. We walked right up to an ostrich - inches away! then we saw a kind of antelope (cant' remember name) and also little tortoises but the real feature here are the 18 giraffes. We sat in the shade under the tree at the picnic area and the guide when to get the giraffes! As if he was going to fetch a cup of tea! After a while we saw their heads then their necks then 15 of those giraffes came slowly walking up and we were surrounded. We walked and sat for 40 minutes just inches away from them. They were calm as they know the guide and we were very quiet and slow to move. It was incredible. Even in Haller Park and on safari you don't get to do this. What we did not realise is that you can buy pellets to feed them from your hand so that would have been fun. Our tuk tuk driver Onesmus was early and drive right up to the picnic area and drove us back. He nearly fell over when we gave him 1000 shillings, biscuits and an England flag to take home. I agreed with him to put his details on here as it was such a pleasure to get a great tuk tuk, a safe driver and a nice person who did not even try to get lots of money from us so he deserved his big tip. All in all the whole thing took about 2-2.5 hours and it was money well spent. I'll never forget the surprise at seeing those giraffes just walk up to us and to stand with us. Opens 9am and shuts 5pm I think. They sometimes feed the animals at 4pm, they have bird watching tours at 10.30am daily. Lots of little lakes and nice birds there too. It's a fabulous thing to do and then get back to the hotel, jump in the pool and get a cocktail!

Final tip, we did not have any insects or bugs but I imagine in mosquito season you may get some and so wear protection. Also wear proper shoes as the grass is long and a bit prickly to walk in .
