being South African, first time in Kenya, I visited the animal orphanage and I was incredibly disappointed, all they have is 2 species of birds, 4 cages of same lions, a cheetah, a leopard, 2 hyenas and a few monkeys - and for that you...More

It was really cool to see some of the animals close up (cheetahs, lions, crocodile, monkeys, other big cats). Medium-sized, sometimes small cages. We were told that these animals were orphans found in the wild and therefore would not have the skills to be reintroduced,...More

the place is great actually. I got to see the game animals so close and some of the big five. Started to visit the place since i was a kid and still is a great place to visit as a family. So that's how big...More

Didnt catch any lions... they arent in Nanyuki. Enjoyed a picnic lunch, and a view of Mt. Kenya. Was worried that it was going to rain. But was informed that it doesnt rain in the afternoons. Overall, it was good.

The zoo, is incredibly small, which is fine the cost isn't too horrible. But there is obvious lack of funding... the animals are in small cages and look miserable. The care takers were friendly and seemed to enjoy their job... just doesn't seem like funding...More

$25 for this small zoo, which is really what it is, is a bit steep. But it is expensive to care for the animals and they take in orphaned and injured animals, mostly cats, that wouldn't survive in the wild. The guides are very instructive...More

Of all places, this is definitely not going to be any value to your money.... And time... Trust me. I find it overpriced especially if you aren't a local. The animals were neglected at the time and there was clearly low maintenance where the animals...More

All of the animals are kept in incredibly small enclosures their entire lives. Talked to staff. The animals that have been ''rescued'' and sent there are not rehabilitated as they want to keep the animals there to attract tourists. more money is spent on giving...More

This is a typically African venture that does what it says on the tin. You will get close to the animals and be asked for money. The fact it is not like an American or European orphanage programme with fancy habitats and enclosures is probably...More

The animals are kept in very small inappropriate enclosures and no effort seems to have been made to rehabilitate any of the animals. I think most of the positive reviews I saw posted for this animal orphanage were put here in error and were acrually...More

Hi, never heard of feeding the cats; over 30 years that I have been to the orphange and since the time Safari Walk was started. You can take a picture with the cats, at least you could 10 years ago at the orphanage. Though I... More

It was $25 US for non residents. I don't know how much for locals. The plus side is they know the non-locals and do special things like let you feed the animals. . . for a tip of course. That part is worth it.
