The Ngong hills offer the closest hike from Nairobi city center. You get very good views of Nairobi city, the Rift valley and pass by the Ngong with farm and telecom masts. 100% worth your day!

We've walked these hills a lot - you will need an armed guide though - it pays to be careful in this city! I enjoyed the slog up to the top and then the carefree drift down again Lunch at Talisman followed!
