Hard sell. Was it worth it?

Hard to say if it was worth it. Fun experience but who in the world knows how much you should be spending on these oils? Not like you can just find them on Amazon. After haggling... read more

Hard to say if it was worth it. Fun experience but who in the world knows how much you should be spending on these oils? Not like you can just find them on Amazon. After haggling back and forth - 100ml bottles ended up costing me $250 for 4. They throw in some small decorative glass bottles you can give... More

Was taken here as a side trip by my tour guide; at first I was a little skeptical because I did not know what to expect. From the time my group entered, we were welcomed personally by the owner and he was very hospitable to us. He let us smell all the different fragrances, shared some stories and entertained us.... I was taken to this place by the tour guide I had hired from Cox and Kings. Just to look it is a good place. But don't buy anything here. The product each small bottle is usd 50 and is no good. The old man tells some interesting stories and using his selling skills makes you buy the products. I... More

Our guide suggested we visited this shop after the pyramid tour and all staff there were very nice and showed us a wide range of perfumes/essential oils and explained how they are made, however having bought essential oils both here and at the Khan el Khalili market, the only difference I have seen is in the price..The perfumes are very... The main issue with this type of places is that you, as a foreigner and potentially from a higher income country, might have the acquisition power to get a small bottle of perfume for $100 but that might not be the right price - then you'll feel ripped off (arguably rightfully) What I'd suggest to anyone that might potentially find... My review says that I visited this shop in April of this year, but in truth it was April 2000. Trip Advisor is lacking a year selection option, at least on the mobile site. So why am I writing a review 14 years after my visit? Well, it's very simple- 14 YEARS after purchasing the oils I still have them... More

I loved egypt overall, and while this is good, they do not explain their pricing very well. We thought we were spending $100 for 6 bottles, but in fact it was $500 which only came to light after the sale had been ringed through. Am an experienced traveler, knew it would be 'hard sell' situation, - i.e sit down, drink... More

I was initially skeptical of the stop at a 'perfume factory' our private tour guide took us on (having been sidelined to "jade factories" in Bejing, "jewelry factories" in Bangkok, etc). However, this was a wonderful experience, and definitely recommended if you are in the Giza area, near the pyramids. We watched their glass blower blowing intricate perfume bottles on... More
