My wife has been obsessed with Egypt from childhood. For years it has been a "Someday" bucket list trip. Then the stars aligned and Look at Egypt helped us make it a reality. We wanted to see as much as we could to try and get the most comprehensive exploration of ancient and modern Egypt as was possible in our two weeks. For us vacations are for exploring amazing places you haven't experienced yet. We'll sleep at home. Look at Egypt and our guide put together a whirlwind trip through all of Egypt from Alexandria to Abo Simbel showing us many amazing points in between. More important than what we saw, the itinerary was arranged to take us on a trip through history. Seeing the mud brick structures and small sandstone temple of El Fayoum gave us a starting place in time and technology. Progressing through our next few sites showed us the evolution of building and artistic techniques. The beautiful depictions of daily life in tempera paints of Beni Hassan to rough carving hieroglyphics at Dendara and combining color with the smoother carvings at Abydos. It really gave us perspective to really appreciate seeing the huge constructions like Karnak and the Great pyramids.   Equally as important as the physical remains is the knowledge of influences and events of the time. Our guide and personal Egyptologist, Mohamed Abu Elmadg (we called him Mu), was an overflowing font of comprehensive knowledge of ancient and modern Egypt. My wife, being an enthusiastic student, quickly became the teacher's pet. Our questions often took us slightly off topic but prompted Mu to give us an ever broader picture of the history around their incredible sites. All this knowledge came together in Alexandria seeing the Roman built sites, where they tried to copy the style and meaning of the older Egyptian sites but didn't really understand the details. We wanted to experience the culture of Egypt, not just the history. Mu was also our guide through modern Egypt, along with our driver Romeo. They helped us experience the more common foods typical of Egypt. Some highlights were the Falafel sandwiches, and chicken or meat grills. Fool is a very common breakfast dish, similar to refried beans but with local accompaniments, fresh veggies and tahini. We learned from Romeo that it's amazing with some falafel chunks mixed in. Another staple is Kushari, it's a vegetarian carb bomb but goes down super easy with all the fried onions and tomato sauce. Also their Lemons are something else amazing, they come with everything. US lemons are pale and boring in comparison.  We learned a little Egyptian to use while there: Yes, No, thank you, you're welcome, Good morning. Everyone we talked to had at least some English but all were impressed when we spoke like a local. We also had the opportunity to see some of the local industry.  We had personal little tours of an alabaster workshop, oriental carpet shop, perfumery, and papyrus producer.  Each showed us their process in a kind and often amusing short tour. We saw their wares and had a pleasant low pressure shopping experience at each. Mu and the Look at Egypt crew took care of everything, checking into hotels, airline flights, boats, vans, and horse carriages for transportation and sightseeing. As we got to know Mu as a friend and we learned about each other and shared some of our beliefs and cultures, he suggested some additional things we could add into the last few days of our itinerary, one of which was a sunrise hot air balloon ride over Luxor. Definitely do that if you get the chance. Our daily ATM limit was the only issue with booking the additions, but it was easy enough to stop on the way somewhere once a day.  It was literally a trip of a lifetime. All our friends are going to hate us soon because there is so much to try to tell them. I can't imagine not talking about this trip to everyone I meet for a very long time. It's your turn. Go to Egypt. Work with Look at Egypt to plan your once in a lifetime trip!

I found this company during my research for a private tour to Egypt. Right at the back, the email communication was transparent and I appreciated that the communication (Fayrouz) was respectful and always ensured he copied the team so that the communication was timely. Per documentation on the itinerary there was someone waiting for us inside the airport. Please note*keep $50 ready for visa as that is the first thing you will need for immigration. Was very pleasant to see a van drive us to our hotel. Next day we received a call in our hotel room from our tour guide Mohammad Salah that he is waiting for us in the lobby. Our journey across Egypt began and ended with him. I had read many things but surprisingly Mohammad shared with us authentic Egyptian things namely Cartush pendant, papyrus and many other similar novelties. He also arranged for our Covid test for our hotel visit where we received the results in 5 hours.  The tour owner Ahmed called us a few times to check on how our tour was going. It was very nice of him to ensure we are comfortable. We moved on from Cairo to Luxor where our guide (Mr. Jones) was a true Egyptiologist. He not only went into the root of the temples but held stimulating conversations about Egypt in the past and Egypt in the present. A very knowledgeable guide and a very humble person. We were driven North and South of Egypt by our driver Mahmud - a very quiet gentleman who was very shy to sit with us for a meal.  Needless to say, he was an excellent driver and always made sure that the AC was blasting 5 minutes prior to we entering the van.   Mohammad as our guide was more like a family- he made us feel comfortable and Ahmed as the owner did care for not just the business but for his customers. There was an occasion where 1 hotel staff was rude and gave us a smoking room with no water pressure in the shower. I mentioned this to Mohammed and within minutes Ahmed was all on the hotel staff. We were upgraded to a suite and were given a complimentary dinner. Needless to say, the pyramids, temples and Nile are a must but I do believe this company is truly worth every penny for a private tour in Egypt. We will use Ahmed for future tours of the Middle East. Safe Travels!

Loved working with this tour group!! Tarek, Hana, and Mohamed were all fantastic. We saw so many incredible things from the pyramids, the Sphinx, Luxor, Karnak, and the Nile cruise. Everything was really great. We even met Ahmed the owner who made sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Had an amazing time and would highly recommend Look at Egypt tours to any of my friends and family.

We had an amazing experience in Egypt! I had thought that when I booked I had joined a smaller tour group, but it turns out we had booked an entirely private tour - we always had our own private transport everywhere we went and our own personal guide. I would never take that back! It was wonderful to have undivided attention and to be able to build our own schedule. We loved seeing the pyramids (definitely pay a little extra to go inside), the Nile cruise was so beautiful and relaxing, and the Hurghada resort was incredible. If you can snorkel/scuba, the Coral reefs were gorgeous! The tour was the perfect combination of sigh-seeing and relaxation. You have the option to add on excursions like Abu Simbel and a Luxor hot air balloon ride once you get there - do it! About the Tour company itself, Look at Egypt Tours was super responsive, attentive, and responsible. I wanted an Egyptian owned tour company and found them to be amount the highest reviewed. They did not disappoint! Our tour guides and assistants were all fantastic! The two that stood out the most were Tarik and Remon who were so sweet and funny! If you’re even thinking about making the journey do it! And do it with Look at Egypt!

Going to Egypt, I didn’t know what to expect. The tour went above and beyond my expectations, setting the bar exceptionally high for any that follow. The tour was super amazing and filled with new adventures and things to learn every day! Our tour guide, Hussein was really passionate and clear in telling us all of the history so that we could remember it! I can now associate all the different things I learned with things I hear in school and T.V.! Everything felt super safe and I am so glad I got to experience Egypt with the best tour company! :)
