Frankly, was disappointed! Had heard a lot about this, but the actual show was a bit of a letdown.
We went there by a large bus. This is located within narrow streets, so had to walk a bit to reach the venue. Huge crowd! Got good seats and got my first view of the famous Giza Pyramids!
The show started on time and went on for about 40 minutes. The Pyramids and the Sphinx were illuminated with lights at different points of the show. There was a flat piece of rock where some images with displayed. And, of course, a narration in English that tried to explain the history behind the Pyramids and the Egyptian Empire.
The narrative was not great. The sound was unclear and the story was rambling at times. And too many Pharaohs and Queens were mentioned. For someone unfamiliar with ancient Egyptian history, it became confusing to track all these names! The lighting was also mediocre. And there was a (public?) road between the Pyramids, where the show was taking place. And vehicles, with bright headlights on, passing regularly! Disturbing!
The location is fantastic, the Pyramids one of the Wonders! With a little more effort, I feel this show could be made brilliant!
Tips - the seats up front are the best! And do take a light jacket across. Breezy in the evenings. Paid toilets available.

Outdated show with dated technology. A Spotlight shining on a pyramid may have been fine 20 years ago but not good enough today. Rather spend the entry money on something else.

I thought it was going to be a tacky laser / light show ... but it was actually an interesting historical - I enjoyed it.
We were there for the 8.30 show, lasts 50 minutes. As we were going out - there was another lined up to go in ..... 9.30 show ?
Take a jumper .... this was start of April and a little chilly.

Tourists: Don't waste your time trying to watch the pyramids show. It just never happens. I've tried it on Sunday because it was supposed do be DAILY! Then in the hotel they told me it is supposed to happen from Wednesday to Saturday. So I came back today and it's not going to happen for no clear reason. There is no one to answer on the ticket desks. People on the streets say "maybe tomorrow"... no one answers the instagram message and the website says nothing. Don't waste your time. They have no respect.

Epic disaster. Rather pay $$ for the worst movie ever made and probably still better than this. We watched 10 minutes on our hotel rooftop and it was insufferable. Avoid.

double check the schedule. Everywhere I looked, it stated that the show was daily, however it was on only 2 of the 4 nights i spent here.
Might be because its low season (January). From what I saw (from the hotel) its pretty amazing seeing the pyramids lit up, but you can see it from pretty much everywhere, so why bother parting with USD 20. You can even hear the narrator (sounds like something from a sixties monster movie). I cant quite figure out what the ticket is for.
Pyramids looks cool when lit up, but just have a dinner or a drink on one of the rooftops. Waste of money.

Very dated and underwhelming. Needs to be completely redone. Don’t expect lasers or excitement. Just illumination of the pyramids and antiquated British voice actors pretending to be the pharaohs. With all the work the country is dumping into places like the Grand Egyptian Museum, this could be a really good thing if redone.

OMG this is terrible. Watched it from our hotel, but would have been REALLY annoyed if I’d actually paid money for this. Rubbish music, terrible commentary and very, very few lights. Shameful tourist rip off.

Has anyone done the sound and light show with dinner. Looking forward to a local diner. Where did they take you for local dinner?

The simple answer is there is no dinner option available.have your dinner and come for the show or have dinner after the show. Cheers

It seems like most people say it was cool. What about the month of September?

What's "cool"? It differs for those from northern climes versus from the tropics...and I don't know from where you hail. Here's my advice: Take a light coat or sweater to the show. If it gets "cool" for you, put one on.

We watched the light and sound show from rooftop of Great Pyramids Inn. It was November, and the breeze was cold. You need woolen during December and January in the evening.

Hi, is it safe and near enough to have a relaxing walk from Mena House to the venue of this Sound & Light Show? Can we just turn up an hour before the show and purchase tickets. What time is the English language show for Friday?

I am not to sure about the neighborhood, and I do not know if you can buy tickets on site - best is to go to the site for the show and ask
