Really interesting visit as all there is to see in Egypt, however, you can skip this one if you are short in time.

While others museums in the world would be considered outstanding, if they could present what is to be seen here, from Egyptian standards this is unimpressive. Only go there, if you really have the time and only in connection with Sakkara (which is a must). Presentation is a in most places outdated and the place is rather hard to reach.... More

Sad residual of a once great city that stretched to the Nile. Maybe an acre in size (including vendors hawking their Chinese-made wares inside) the site appears to be minimally maintained. Be prepared for a shocking ride to the sight of passing by garbage filling canals on dusty, poorly maintained roads.

This is a small open air museum, but worth a visit. Here you will find the Colossus of Ramses II which was found in the mud nearby, you can see the damage it caused on the left hand side of the statue, but it still is amazing. There is also an Alabaster Sphinx, which dates from 1200 BC. There are many... More

The Memphis Museum is a small open air museum of significant importance. The statue of Ramses is a "Wow" site to see! We also enjoyed the ride from Cairo to Memphis. Country life at it's finest! Well...maybe!

The Memphis Museum was so full of mystery and wonder there was no way we could see everything in the 1 day we had to do so. Absolutely no problems with the museum itself-well worth the entry fee. We loved it! PLEASE NOTE: There are women stationed at all restrooms who want to charge you to use the restroom. When... More

Some nice history here and we visited because it was part of our day tour. Information is very limited in books, so a guide is necessary to enhance the visit.

The Memphis Museum will only get better as the tourism market increases again in Eygpt. There wasn't a lot to see but what you did get a chance to see was well worth the trip. Walking next to the statue of Ramsesses II helped to show the spectacular civilization of the Egyptian people during this ancient period in time.

Truly magnificent statue of Ramses - in near perfect condition. I found the outdoor museum charming with several interesting stella, alabaster statue, etc. I would not try to drive to any of these locations. We went on a tour.
