Entering the Azhar gardens is like closing a door, on the mouse and chaos of Cairo streets. A small entrance fee means everyone can enjoy the clean gardens, cooking waterfalls, panoramic views of Cairo from its raised location. The haze today made the views of the citadel and mosques atmospheric. Great at anytime of day but sunset is lovely. The... More

There is not much to say except that this park is green, big, beautiful, and full of fountains and views that make the 10LE ticket worth every penny. I have been in the day and at night and would recommend to time it so that you can see the views in the day and during sunset and leave time for... More

Piped music, waterfalls and lots of green grass. A very nice park with a good quality restaurant where you pay reasonable prices for reasonable food.

Very nice place to relax and being away from usual crowd of Cairo. Beautiful trees of palms and and marbles on the floor makes this place very unique. Its located somehow in high hill in Cairo and u can have a beautiful view of old Cairo. Visited on 18.11.2016

Al-Azhar Park was built on the ruins of a large garbage rubbble. It was built by the Aga Khan. It is the largest garden in Cairo and has breathtaking views of the mosques of Al-Rifa'i, Sultan Hassan, Al-Azhar, Bab-Zuweila and the Citadel. Amazing architecture with gardens, fountains and a lake. Be prepare relax and interact with the myriad of Cairene... More

This park is very nice attraction in Cairo. Very good and organized. Some water fountain in the entrance that many locals come to cool down in the hot summer. Children love playing in it. Bring swim clothes for the kids. And bring your picnic stuff if you would like to enjoy setting in the park. There is an excellent restaurant... More

We had a lovely lunch at this park. From the balcony area where we sat, we had a view to the Citadel. It was a fabulous spot. The food was so yummy. Afterwards we strolled around this delightful park, that also had wonderful views over Cairo. Opposite this park is the fascinating City of the dead. The park and restaurant... More

Al-Azhar is a great place to get away from the chaos and the pollution of the rest of Cairo. It also offers some great views, especially of the Citadel. As it is recovered from an old giant dump, it is also bound to please those concerned with environmental awareness (who will otherwise be shocked with the dirty state of Cairo)
