The Colossi of Ramesses II is truly colossal. I took a picture standing next to it and I looked like an ant. The level of detail and artistry displayed in this colossi is absolutely beautiful and the colossi is in excellent condition.

This Colossus is in the museum at Memphis. It is worth the trip. We attended as a large group and admission was included so I cannot speak to the cost of admission. I very much liked this exhibit. It had informative plaques that showed what...More

It's a little bit off the beaten track, but the benefit is that it is less crowded. Maybe not as awesome as the sites at Giza, but definitely well worth visiting. We went as part of a whole day tour where we saw the pyramids...More

Visiting Memphis for the Colossus of Ramses II and the Sphinx of Memphis should be combined with Sakkara-- not worth the trip JUST for Memphis. Even better do a full day tour combining with the Giza pyramids in a private car tour.

This large limestone statue of Ramses II, on its back, was quite amazing to see the details of the carving. You can see it up close on ground level or walk up to the second floor and get an elevated view.

Very large but ornate status of the most famous of Ancient Egyptian rulers. Can get close to and above the great status.
