First the good. Michael was our tour Organiser and he was a great first contact. Fun, informative and well organized. He also dropped us off at the end and could not have been more helpful. A credit to his company! Hotel Safir in Cairo was a bit of a mess. It’s not five star but three and run down. The hot water did not work nor the air conditioning. Food first day at the Asian restaurant was inedible. We complained. The hotel had the room fixed next day and went out of their way to make it up to us. Sheraton here is about the same price, better and located near the River. Safir is located in a residential area , a mile from the Nile. We went down to Sofitel for New Years which was very nice. Our first guide in Cairo seemed a little hurried and bored with what he does. You should be warned that your trip to the pyramids involves purchasing extra tickets to get into the inside of the pyramids , which is definitely worth it, even if guide says it’s not. Scores of buskers will hassle you for money and to buy things. Suggest the guide should be responsible for keeping most of these people off of you. He speaks the language and can stop people with a quick sentence. Don’t get me wrong. We are not helpless and have travelled a lot , but it did get a bit frustrating. Cairo museum is half empty as they are setting up the new one. Not any fault of the tour operator but they should advise you. Once the new museum is open it should be very impressive. Guides will take you to perfume factories where they will try and sell you overpriced oils and essences. Just politely say no unless you really like something. Be aware everything is an up sell here. Like Asia guides take you to the places they have arrangements with. It gets old pretty fast. I’d rather be taken to try great local food and drink. They did happen a couple of times but eating like a local can be a great experience if you pick the best local food places. Just don’t drink the tap water!!! Internal flights are comfortable if usually delayed. Aswan is very nice. It’s quiet snd clean. Make sure you visit the Nubian village and if you have time do the cruise to Abu Simbal. Cruising to Luxor from Aswan was nice. The boat Alyssa is old and worn but quite comfortable. It’s not 5 stars as advertised. More like 3. Staff were great. Food on the first day was awful. The second day onwards it was much better. It seems the use left overs from the last cruise the first day? The transfer back up Cairo to fly out is a waste of a day and money. You should fly out of Aswan or Luxor back home depending which direction you are headed on the cruise. Hotel in Luxor was quite nice. We ate dinner at Mezze over at the Movenpick resort for dinner and it was very good. Return to Cairo was a waste as we could have left from Luxor but again Michael was the highlight and left a good feeling about Egypt with us to take home.

My husband and I are close to the end of this fabulous tour of Egypt and Jordan. The arrangements in both countries from airport pickup and drop off; tour guides; drivers and hotels were excellent. We had adequate time at all sites. The Nile Cruise was first class. Hats off to all the planning and care that was involved on the part of all Vacations to Go staff and private contractors. We highly recommend this tour.

This is the third trip that Bacations to Go have planned for us. We have visited Morocco, Egypt and now Jordan. We had an 11-day Jordan experience and all I can say is it exceeded expectations. We went to Jordan for Petra but found Jordan is south more. From the Roman ruins in Jeresh, the busy city of Aman with the Roman amphitheater, the market place, the Desert Castles, Petra of course, an over-night desert experience in Wadi Rum, the relaxing city of Aqaba (where we scuba dived for the first time. And on to flooting in the dead sea, visiting where Moses saw the promised land and the baptisism site of Jesus, the experience was outstanding. And that is attributed to Vacations to Go who arranged our wonderful drive Achmed and an outstanding trip. Every trip they have arranged for us has been outstanding. They care for the little things. The owner is responsive and will arrange your trip with your personal desires, like visiting the only micro-brew in Jordan. You will not go wrong planning your tripwithVacations to Go.

Spectacular! Vacations to Go travel is the way to go while in Egypt. From pickup service, to destinations, to guides! We had a great Egyptologist for this cruise which made our adventures to the Valley of the Kings, Queens, Karnack, Luxor temple, etc. just so educational. The ship, The Crown Jewel, was a bit dated but the service of the staff made up for that. Outstanding ship service and a great guide, Tayeb, and great help from Michael, our transfer go-to and airport liason.

The agency (Vacations to go travel) was always very helpful. From the initial planning, done by email with Director Magdy, passing through the reception in Cairo, and all other cities visited. The staff was always very attentive, punctual and ready to solve any problem. I didn't have to worry about anything during the trip as the guides thought about every detail. The trip was completely safe and well organised. I thank everyone I had contact with and I really recommend Vacations to go travel.
