just beautiful, although surrounded by a poor neighborhood, yet it is peaceful and lovely, with statues of biblical characters carved in the mountain, a must see when you are in Cairo

A great Coptic church in mokatam area carved in the cliff. It's not an easy way to reach it but it shouldn't be missed especially if you are christian.

The church of St Simon Tanner is a must see in Cairo. Actually there are two churches here, the open air amphitheatre and the smaller one inside a cave. I think these churches were miraculous. They were built inside the caves of Mount Mukattam hills....More
