Visit holynplace go to St. Sergius Chusrch in Old Cairo, Church is in the same area where holy family stayed during their trip to Egypt.

The church was situated in Old Cairo in the middle of common houses. It doesn't look like a church until we walk in. The building is rather small compred to common church, more like a chappel. Such amazing piece of art that came out history, and it has a cave inside where virgin Mary & baby Jesus were hiding, a must see place.

It is a beautiful church and there is a great deal of history around it. It is well-maintained and the artwork is amazing. You will be stunned to see its beauty.

The last thing I expected was to find a church for st sergius & Bacchus in this area. My husband and I visited Cairo around Easter and given my interest in Coptic Christianity, I was really keen to visit Coptic Cairo. Unfortunately, the Sadat Metro station was closed on the day we visited, which meant that we had to get a taxi to Mar Girgis Metro station, which is the closest to Coptic Cairo (just across from it)....
