Ok Ok.... The church was completely restored, very clean, safe, pleasant. But, the story just was not plausible based on what I observed. Seemed somewhat contrived to my eye. More of a tourist site than a historical site. The surrounding Coptic area made the visit...More

The story of St. Sergius and St. Bacchus is very interesting and the underground cavern where the Holy Family stayed while escaping King Herod is amazing.

It is the oldest church (possible 5th century) in the Coptic area and it's interesting to think that the Holy Family may have sheltered in a cave during their "Flight Into Egypt" Interesting experience.
