Eltanoura show at Wekalet elghoury definitely worths going; every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday evening (i went in Ramadan when it starts at 9:30 but i think it starts earlier in ordinary days) Tickets r 5 EGP for Egyptians and 30 EGP for non- egyptians so it's cheaper than any other concert

The Tannoura is a beautiful, meditative dance form that is both inspiring and entertaining. These dancers will leave you enthralled with their hypnotic twirling and utter surrender.

We enjoyed going to the theatre and watching this traditional Egyptian dancing. The place in also nice. However, small and there was no enough chairs. You have to go early and stand in line to find a seat. It was for one and half hour, which was a little bit long. Still I would recommend going to see this excellent... More

I had seen videos of such shows online but nothing compares to the beautiful, soulful singing and dancing of this Dance Troupe. My husband surprised me by booking this show as I love dancing. With the backdrop of the Khan el-Khalili market you are taken back in time. The show is very well choreographed and the tempo increases with time.... More

I've seen this show a couple of times and found it a wonderful experience. The whirlers and musicians are very talented (they aren't dancers, this is a spiritual meditation not a dance) and if you let it, the experience is like a led moving meditation. If you can keep in the moment and focus the daft antics of some other... More

Though there is very little information online and was challenging to confirm its still running, i made it. I went on a monday and there was no que. Arriving half an hour before start time (7:30, not 8!) will suffice to secure reasonably positioned seats. The show runs for about 75 mins and is quite remarkable. One of the highlights... More

it is highly recommended to watch this show, at least once in your life. But, as a foreigner paying EGP 70 to attend, you really need to arrive one hour before the show in order to be able to get into the first five seats.... if you're lucky the weather would be fine, as they sometimes interrupt the show due... My mom and I were told about this show by a local man while we were exploring the market. We really had no idea what to expect. I was so surprised and impressed! The musicians were excellent and the dervishes' movement was incredible. They were very graceful and their colorful clothing was beautiful. The show started at 7:30 on Wednesday... More

One night while in Cairo, we went to see the Sufi Dancers, better known as the Whirling Dervishes. It was probably the most amazing performance I have ever seen. The Sufi, a sect of Islam, believe that they are closest to Allah (God) when they are whirling. And man did they whirl! The show was held in an old madrasa... More
